ive heard that you can gain like 12 horsepower with aluminium pulleys over the stock ones is this true because i dont feel like paying 100 bucks for something that doesnt help

average gains are between 7-9hp with underdrive pulleys, some lower, some higher. Everything helps, but there's a sacrifice when you do it, as well.

Yes sometimes cooling issues, charging issues etc.. I run an underdrive crank pulley, my car cools and charges fine.

Also tougher steering at idle in parking lots . Try to stay away from alum pulleys though . They wear alot faster . After one year of use on my red capri i can already feel slight wear on it so it goes on the list of things to check each year before it goes on the road.
