Picked up a Capri hood scoop yesterday and was wondering what is the proper way to mount it, specifically location. This is the scoop that surrounds the hood grills. Any tips or ideas are welcome.

thanks,
Zen

Well....make it fit appropriately around the grills...Not trying to be a smart ass, but it should be pretty self explanitory.

I put the scoop with the studs pointing down on a piece of cardboard.
Pushed down on the cardboard to poke them all through. Then traced the outer
part of the scoop with a pencil, then pulled the scoop off and cut it out.

There are cut outs under the hood for 3 of the studs. I then center punched the middle
one and drilled it out. I put my pencil up through the hole and laid that cardboard over the top and it gave me the location of the other studs.

I did have to elongate some of the holes to make it fit JUST right, but its on!

Great info, thanks Jeff.
I'm debating painting the grills body color, opinions?

I wouldn't paint them body color...Ideally they're supposed to appear as if they are integrated with the scoop. I'm not sure it would look right either. Pick up an extra set, paint them, and see how you like it. You'll still have the other set to do what you like without having to strip paint and the such...

Yea, I'll try that. I still have the originals (red) and the grey ones that are on there now.
