rear control arms

hello,im trying to find out about rear controll arms for a 82 cougar xr7,are they the same as a mustang?i called a few places and they said they didnt know for sure,anyone know first hand?? thanks

They're the same.

No they are not the same as a Mustang.

The 81-82 NON-XR-7 Cougars are, but the 80-82 Cougar XR-7s and Tbirds (with the 108" wheelbase) are the same as the 83-88 Tbirds/Cougars.

A place called CHE does a reasonably-priced RCA set-up for the Tbirds/Cougars.

I think Maximum has a set as well...but you will pay, but they are nice pieces.

hey ,i removed the original lowers from the cougar, measured at 18.25,talked to che,he said he will make them for me ,83 n up was 18 in,nice guys to talk to

No, just use 83-88.

The actual length is 18-1/8" for both.

Had them out, measured them, built them.

No need for a "special" set.
