Getting ready to restore my engine bay to original condition and got a couple things I want to verify

1- what is the correct black for the lower air cleaner? Gloss, semi-gloss, semi-flat?

2- What is the correct routing of the battery cables? I have seen both over and under the air cleaner tube. Mine goes over but what is correct. Also, I would like a picture of the correct cables/terminals if anybody has one.

3- What do the correct spark plug wires look like? Grey with year stamp? Are these available?

4- what is the correct finish for the brake booster? Should it just be black or the gold irdite kind of finish?

Eastwoods Underhood black. Just get it. It's a perfect match against all my NOS air cleaner parts. And I mean PERFECT.

2- ?? No idea.

3- What do the correct spark plug wires look like? Grey with year stamp? Are these available?

Yes, grey and black. I am not aware that they are available.

4- what is the correct finish for the brake booster? Should it just be black or the gold irdite kind of finish?

Mine is black (1985), I thought 83s were the same.

I was thinking the eastwood underhood black should be close so thats good. Most brake boosters I have seen on these cars appear owner painted so I did not know if they started out bare metal or some form of plating. Mine is surface rust color so I can't even tell how it started out. Thanks for the info Mike.

edit:...and while I'm thinking about it, do you have any intrest in a scan of a 1983 Mustang dealer brocure for your website? I got one off Ebay recently. It is a little bigger than my scanner though so I am trying to find someone that can scan it.

the battery cables were under the air cleaner tubes. All boosters were black.
