so I just finnished the engine swap in my buds 83 gt, we put in a 91 block and it has the common edlebrock carb, I turned the adjustment screws all they way in and then back out 1-1/4 turns, the car fires right up and idles but it stays at around 600rpm, even when I adjust the idle screws it does not change.
the car has crisp throttle response and does not bog just idles really low, I played with the timming as well and still no change. any ideas?

Idle screws? Plural? As in the same ones you adjusted all the way in and then back out
1-1/4 turns? Those have nothing to do with idle speed. (OK, well, they do kinda affect
the idle speed in a way, but that's not their purpose.)
Or am I misunderstanding the question?

It sounds like your adjusting the idle mixture screws and not the idle screw on the throttle plate.
