Try Metrofinishes.

They have all the paint for the Ford cars.

Their stuff is exact. If it is not, they have mixed paint for me when I sent them a part. They have been doing the interior paint for decades. I recommend getting the lacquer paint. If you do it right, it makes a very tough finish.

For 84-86 they list:

DESERT TAN - MEDIUM
Sand Beige Light
SAND BEIGE - LIGHT - FLAT

Is your interior not one of those?

(Oh, you edited your post.)

I used charcoal only.

You might be able to ask them for both or at least why they have different names. I have called them a few times and they do normally respond to emails.

FWIW, I don't think I would go with the flat...just a gut feeling.

We use SEM which we have custom mixed to match the interior colors.

That's cool. How many cans must you buy and at what price?

What color have you determined is best for the exterior mouldings? I have tried a bunch and some are really close...but its tough to say which is the exact match.

We havent done much with the exterior yet. As for the interior we have almost all of the colors right. The bad thing for most poeple with our dye is that you need a paint gun to apply it. I have yet to see a rattle can paint stick. Ours comes in a pint($39.00) or a quart($69.00)

I use the adhesion promotor and really really clean the panels well.

The Metro finishes paint I have been using has stuck like glue so far. The SEM stuff seems to cover better but I haven't put it on interior plastic to see how well it works.

I don't think any vendor has even considered reproducing the interior plastic panels yet.
