View Full Version : Rear window motor gear part no.s and r&R?
The rear window on my LTD LX will barely go up, the motor is turning but the window has to be helped along.
Anyone know if the gears can be replaced, and if so what the part number is? Am tempted to swap the gears with the passenger side rear door, which has an inoperative window lift motor. Anyone know if they interchange?

It's usually the torque pins that are old, brittle, and in pieces that are bad. Not the gear.
Open the motor, take off the screw and cover, pull out the gear. 3 round 1/2 inch pins should fall out. I bet they are not there anymore.
They are cheapest on eBay. If you buy more than 1 kit.

They are about $8 for 1 kit at the parts store,

Yup, they crumble into little pieces so the motor spins but does not engage the window.
Thanks folks - I take it the motor needs to come out? My pins arrived yesterday.
