Have an intermitent stalling problem. Happens mainly in highway driving, ocassionally in the city. Stalls out like lack of gas, wont start, have to wait 5 minutes then good to go till it happens again, worst it happened twice in 45 minutes. Carb and choke have been serviced, however the car did sit for 12 years. Im thinking fuel filters, gas perculation, any other ideas where to start?

Thanks

Are you getting a strong spark?

This happened to me last year all of a sudden. Had to replace a CO2 and MAP sensor. Runs fine now...

An '85 5.0 4V has neither of those items.

check your wires next to the battery. I had a similar problem there was a clipped wire near the coil.

Check for broken or loose wires connecting to the duraspark box. Look at the black connector to see if the wire are loose. Check by twisting the wires while your car is running at idle. It will misfire if their is a bad connection. If there is a sticky oil coming from the duraspark box it is time for replacement. 2nd check the two wires going to the coil. Good luck!

if it sat for that long it would be a great idea to change your filter and do a tune up

I already had a complete tune up done. All filters replaced alogn with fluids, rad and most lines wer flushed and the carb and choke were tuned.

replace the duraspark box. My f-150 did the same thing
