The GT has the new motor in it.Its a real blast to drive:woowoo:Had it on the dyno today. It got 285 rwhp and 305 ft.lbs.of tq.With a few miles on it and a little more tuning it should get well over 300.

Your setup is almost the same as mine. The only difference is I went with a 347 and a set of Edelbrock heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 valves. I also switched to an electric fan to save a few hp on fan drag. I just switched to a RPM Airgap and 650 double pumper carb so I am hoping it runs better with them. I am sure it will make a big difference and I can't wait to dyno it to get my new hp numbers. It looks like your numbers are close to what I got on my first dyno and I am sure it is just as fun to drive!

Nice! I bet it'll rip the tires off the rims quite nicely....

http://vb.foureyedpride.com/photoPost/data/500/capri-11.jpgHow did you keep the stock valve covers? Mine would not clear the roller rockers.I took the baffles out and then they slung oil out of the vents. An electric fan is on my wish list.I just had to park it because its leaking oil out of the intake, hopefully it will stop by retourqing it.

I have heard a lot of people say that they have had problems with the stock valve covers spilling oil out the caps after removing the baffles but my oil leakage has been minimal at the most. I am not using the car as a everyday driver though so I guess that might be the difference. I have been openning the hood every couple of weeks and wiping down the covers to catch any misting of oil. I have had the car running over a year now and I have only put about 5k on the new motor. If you do switch to the electric fan, set aside another $300 for a 140 amp alternator. I had major battery problems until I switched because I also had a ass kicking stereo and underdrive pulleys. It would drain the battery almost everytime I would drive the car on a hot day and I could forget about driving it at night using the lights as well. I made several calls to AAA before I figured out what the problem was. Your most likely going to have to remve your manifold and try to seal it again, I had the same problem on my first manifold and tried to retorque with no luck.

The problems I had back when I used to do this were not so much about oil leaking onto
the covers, but oil was definitely getting sucked up into the intake. I was able to reduce
the oil consumption some by using a riser tube under the PCV valve, with a small wad of
PCV filter element material in it, but the best fix was to go back to using baffled covers.
One thing I'd suggest, if all's you need to do is clear the polylocks, don't take out the entire
baffle, but rather cut round holes just where the polylocks need to go through the baffle. It
can be a bit tricky figuring out exactly where the holes need to be, but it's worth the effort.

Finally started the car with the new manifold and carb last night. Guess what!?!? I have a nasty manifold oil leak, big suprise! I have come to the conclusion that I suck at sealing manifolds! I give up, gonna take it somewhere and and have it done.

Don't feel bad,the guy that built mine has built a lot of 5.0,s and he said its almost a 50-50 chance the first try will leak.Mine's being replaced right now.

use studs to guide the manifold into place, cork gaskets with the intorlock pieces cut off, rtv, and big dabs of it in the corners. let it sit for a day before starting. it works for me.

I use a bead of silicone in place of the end seals. But there's a bit of a trick to getting
the silicone to seal first time around.
First, both surfaces must be absolutely clean and oil-free. Next, don't just lay down
the bead. Skim-coat both surfaces with silicone first. This gives a layer of silicone
that's well bonded to the sealing surfaces, and the bead will readily bond to that.

I use the fel-pro rubber molded end gaskets, and haven't had a leak yet. I used to use silicone as stated above, and gave these a try and they worked out good.

That's funny , I have been really lucky with the cork , I beat on my car every spring and summer , and this is the 4th year now , and no leaks .
I can tell that it has moved , and i will have to do something with it .
