I don't think it would be worth it. Your best bet (and cheap too) with a stock 86 is an 87+ upper and TB. 70mm is going to be way too much with stock heads and cam.

Yes you can just do the swap, should need anything else. One thing to keep in mind is the intake is just as restrictive, the 86 was the worst piece! You wont gain as much with the stock intake, and if you wanted to use a 65mm it would actually keep the velocity of air a little higher going into the motor.

i believe stock is 58, so 60 isnt much od an upgrade. A 65 would flow a little better, little better throtle response, and can be had for $125 new. Its up to you wether a few extra ponies are worth the money.
Also if you plan on future mods you might as well upgrade now.

I am running a 70mm BBK/Edlebrock throttle body, EGR and a 89' upper intake.
Car was much more responsive and runs just fine. I am also running a o/r hpipe as well.

The lower is the same. Only the upper is different. You won't benefit from a 65mm on the 86 heads. They do not flow past 4500-5000 rpm anyway. Just get/keep the 87 TB and upper intake and take it for what its worth....
