I scored this new on the Sears website. Its a 26 Gallon, 2hp compressor. It delivers 8.6 SCFM @ 40 PSI and 6.4 SCFM @ 90 PSI. Despite the fact that it was a catalog only item and I had to pay 130ish for shipping it was still a great deal. The item itself was $140, and came with an impact wrench, air wratchet, blow gun and a few other needed fitments. Most of the other compressors I was looking at were about 300ish dollars, but the were 1.1-1.7 hp and did not have the included tools. They also did not have enough to run a HVLP spray gun, this one can run one.

You're going to have people chiming in that you should have spent $800+ on a belt drive compressor, at least that's the way these compressor threads usually go.

For what it's worth I have a very similar Craftsman compressor and think it's fine for what I do with it. It's very handy for the home garage, and I used it when I painted my car with no problems. The air tools aren't the best around, but again for the limited use they get in my garage, they are fine.

It would be nice to buy only the top of the line in everything, but for those of us who live in the real world it's not possible.

Enjoy your new toy.

I hear you there, I would have loved to buy industrial type compressor. But it I couldn't see myself spending that much on one and it isn't really practical anyway. The whole reason I bought one that big is to run a HVLP spray gun and a sandblaster.
