Disclaimer: It's late at night and I've looked at a million "for sale" ads -- of all kinds of things -- so I'm a little punchy.

Here's the question: Have you ever had a great car ---- that had everything in perfect working order ---- needed nothing ---- perfect performance engine ---- seats that looked like no one had ever sat on them ---- not a speck of dust or scuff mark or door ding anywhere ---- and then SOLD IT???

Maybe I just dont get it ---- but I keep reading ads (talking about cars here) and the owners keep saying ---- "It's a great car" ---- "turns heads" ---- "I love it" ---- "best car I've ever owned" ---- then why sell it?

Maybe at 2:39AM I oughta be in bed. Thanks for listening.

I almost had to do that with my car (the Cobra) but didn't. I needed some cash but was able to work through some stuff so I didn't sell it. Could be someone who is strapped for money.

Personally, never have done that. I've gotten rid of cars because I've wrecked them, blown something up, or realized I'd bitten off more than I can chew in a project.

I can see someone moving overseas selling a car they love. Or maybe the ball and chain demanding that the eyesore go or she does. Or of course having to sell the convertible or sports car because a baby's on the way. But anyone not facing one of those selling a car they claim to love would make me suspicious.

We sold our '95 GT convertible because we had a third child, and it only sat four. We bought a '99 P71 Crown Vic to replace it.

I sold my 99 GT, which I poured tons of sweat and love into, because it would have cost 2500 dollars to ship it back to the US from Germany. We had just bought my wife's new Focus and the Army would only ship one car per family. I still regret selling that car, it was my first Mustang with a V8. What really sucks is that it would have been paid off along time ago.

I always want another mustang, so I am always selling what I build.
