Got a new idea for the 82 t-top notch. I already have a 82 gt air dam which is the same. The 3 actual pace cars were t-top but replicas has sunroofs. Mine has black interior but like the pace cars recaros seats alot. Just think it would be cool to see a pace car t-top notch replica. Plus 2 of the 3 origonals were changed to 82GT specs for the Detroit Grand Prix.

Also of thinking of doing a modern look pace car. Paint it black with some better rims and other odds and ends.

If you are thinking about doing that, might I suggest going with a 5lug swap and running the 94GT tri-bar wheels with 96 Cobra center caps to emulate the TRX look the car came with?

...you mean something similar to this? I'd leave of the modern GT side skirts and rear bumper - stick with period correct 1979-1982 stuff. It could look good. This particular execution doesn't look too bad but some of the details are just not my taste.

I have a couple pics of a bright red one done up pretty sweet with 18" billet wheels. I'll upload pics when I get home.

I think an T-Top '82 coupe with the front air dam, foglights and decal package would look good. It would be a unique look to an already good looking package. I'm with John and don't really care for side skirts and different rear bumpers. The original Pace Cars didn't have those and they look sleek and sexy.

This is closer to what I'm talkin' about - I found 'em in one of my folders here at work. I thought they were billet wheels and tires but they look like BBS wheels actually. Anyways, it's hunkerd down over what looks like 18s and see how much cleaner it looks without all the extra "tacked-on" ground effects and wing? It's sleek right? I think it may even be minitubbed.

I don't like the red one with the gt/pace nose. visually (to me) looks a little too front heavy. the super stallion style painted notch looks pretty nice with the newer skirts and looks nice with the trim.

We were thinking Cobra notch while building this....

We still have Saleen side skirts and rear valence to install, along with all the trim. I am still not sure if we will use the rear valence since it's designed for dual tail pipes. The stock exhaust tips look too good to replace.

This car, even though it is nicely done and attractive, bothers me on many levels.

1. A Capri had to be cut up for the fenders.
2. Capri parts DO NOT belong on any Mustang.
3. A Capri or Pacecar had to give up it's air dam.
4. They used aero 1/4 windows on a 4 eye.
5. It's front end looks too much like a Chevy product. (Monte Carlo)

1. How do you know the fenders didn't come from a bone yard wreck?

2 .You can say capri parts don't belong on a mustang but yet a SVO gave up the sail panels for your capri? What about putting an ASC wing on a non ASC car?

Now...I don't know if this was an aero car before, if it was then I have some complaints I guess.
But the car was well done and not half assed at least.

1. Could have been wrecked or at a bone yard, i know of 2 locally that are in rough shape, not to mention cheap.
2. As stated above
3.or an 82GT/80-81 cobra, but then again maybe it was wrecked?
4.so what? they obviousely want a clean look.
5.the monte carlo looks too much like a mustang IMO, both are good lookin cars but it's obvious which one i prefer
6. quit complaining about other peoples rides, a lot of work went into that car to make it a capristang

My car is factory black, I was thinking of doing it black on black like mine is factory. I want to modernize it. What do you think about 93 LX tails and quarters. Should I leave the factory sails on. The car has the 93 tails but I have the stock ones. If I do it black I don't like the orange stripes, should I maybe leave them of of change to a different color

What's going to happen is you're going to see a lot of opinions on here because the 4-eye purists will say "Leave the 79-86 Mustangs the way God intended it - stock from the factory!"...or something like that. Then you have the guys that wanna personalize 'em which really is what the Mustang was always about whether you did it from the factory or at home in your driveway. I don't think hammering the red Mustang Notch cause it has this or that is real positive. I think the car was done in good modern taste! I woulda put some billet aluminum wheels on it but other than that I like it. ALso, the Monte front end is a rip off of the Mustang nose if you wanna look at it like that. The Monte SS nose looks like a Ford product...typical Chevy, always copying Ford's success!! LOL!
I wonder what some will think when they see my 1980 Cobra with SVO sails, carbon splitter under the factory air dam, carbon NASCAR-inspired rear carbon ducktail spoiler, 18x9s and 18x10s and a 450+ hp 351 Windsor? BIGWINGSALEEN sold me those sails, and they're goin' on the car in his honor by the way.

I for one can't leave something stock. I tried with my '88 GT but it I just can't do it. I could restore the '88 for very little money and have a perfect 100% original car but to me personally it's just not fun after a while. BUT, however I do enjoy seeing a fox body 100% once in awhile...it's neat.

The black Pace Car looks awesome!!! Woulda been neat if they made a limited edition black version and maybe produced like 50 of them? Woulda been an instant collectible.

Ya know, as a designer, I'm about the details and have my own specific likes and taste. Sometimes I see guys posting pics of their cars and if suggestions are asked for - if I have one I give it but in a positive way. If I don't like something somebody has done on their ride, I'd rather just not post.

Wow...when i posted about doing the nose swap on my car i got my ass ripped. Maybe because it's an SSP...i dunno...but i always wanted this front end on a coupe and since Ford never did it i figured i would. I've toyed with the idea of painting and decaling it to look like a Pacecar coupe but i don't think i will, i've got other ideas for paint now...it's probably going back to the original SSP color.
