Going to look at a 1980 Cobra this weekend, seen a couple of pics, silver with black lower trim, orange Cobra graphics, needs total redo but no rust. Has the Recaros, front air dam and factory cowl induction scoop. 255/C4 car but they are long gone, if I get it will put in 302 4 barrel with AOD. Tried to post pics here but they are too "large". Wish me luck!

try and scale down the pics if you can, I want to see this thing! I use microsoft photo manager or something like that to scale pictures down, it should be fairly straight forward.

Well I am almost officially a Cobra owner. I couldn't make it there to see it but I saw several pics and talked to him for hours on the phone. When he started telling me about all the NOS parts in the box I told him I would buy it. So hopefully Monday-Wednesday I will be picking it up. Will post more info and pics then.

Nice to hear. Try uploading the pictures from your computer directly to www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) . That site is free and will resize them automatically. Once they're uploaded, "copy" the IMG tag underneath your desired picture by right clicking your mouse and selecting "copy". You can then "paste" the IMG in your post by right clicking and selecting "paste". They'll then show up.
We need pic's!

Ya'll just going to have to wait until I pick up the car for pics, i am so busy I can't even take my new ladyfriend out to dinner. I have a 89 coupe to finish cutting up and parting out and getting it off of my trailer so I can go pick up the Cobra. Plus I bought a wrecked 81 Capri T-top car today, it's a good thing I am not married or I would be in hot water with all of these project and junk cars around! Gotta keep the yard somewhat clean so the city doesn't think I have a junk yard here!

Would it help if I took your lady friend out to dinner so the crew could get some pics? I am here to help.

To dark for pics now, I pulled in the driveway at 6:10 PM and ran in the house to grab the camera for those pics before the sun set. I had to drive 200 miles to pick the car up, had only seen pictures and the guys descrption so far. I had agreed to buy it over the phone before actually seeing it! So I get up this morning and it is SNOWING! It rarely snows in Lousiana especially in March. I call the guy up and say can we wait until tomorrow? He says he's still getting calls on the car and I better come get it if I want it plus the weather by him was fine. So I get tehtrailer hooked up and head out, it's snowing but not too hard. Then going west on I-20 I get to the Louisiana/texas border and it is a BLIZZARD! I am from Wisconsin and know what a blizzard is. Since the snow was blowing at me it was even worse, had the windshield wipers on high just to keep the snow clear. I was beginning to think this was a bad idea and then after about 40 miles of snow, driving slow and trying not to join the other people in the ditch (people here have NO idea how to drive in snow) I broke out into better weather. By the time I got to Caddo Mills Texas where the car was at it was nice and sunny! The car turned out to be as nice as he said and had several "extra" parts that made it worth it. It was so loaded with stuff inside that I just said "load it up" LOL, no real idea how good or bad the interior is. It was full of boxes, no idea what parts are there. The damage I see to the car so far is minor damage to the left rear quarter, the right front air dam fender extension is trash, hard to tell what is underneath that primer on the right and the Recaro's look like the dog chewed on them. The front air dam and grill look good and the correct Marchal fog lights are still there. 255 v8 and C-4 are long gone. Well I think it is time to go look at boxes of stuff!

Let's just say when I went there my wallet was so thick it wouldn't fold and afterwards I had barely enough for a Coke and chips LOL! Time will tell wether it was worth the price.

Nope, $100's and $20's. All I had left was $1's. If I was the type who went to strip clubs I would be set LOL!

Yeah, everyone wanted to buy parts off of the car, the guy I bought it from held it for a week because I said I wanted to restore it, not strip it.
Went through a cuple of big boxes quickly, looks like the original pulleys, brackets, PS pump, carb, and distributor. I also found the missing tailight, it looked NICE! And extra steering wheel too with excellent "grip".

Well I will give decoding my buck tag and warranty plate a shot.
Buck Tag Line 1
MUSTANG (duh)
Line 2
133106 (last 6 of VIN, matches door tag)
61R (3 dr hatchback)
D (255 V8 )
1047 (?)
Line 3
1P (medium gray)
DF (?)
TT (tu-tone)
6T (?)
Line 4
RW (rear window wiper/washer)
AC (Air Conditioning)
06 (?)
DRM (?)
Line 5
CBR (Cobra)
07 (hood scoop)
V (?)
Line 6
2 (?)
3 (?)
DCR (?)
C (?)
A in far right corner (black interior?)
Warranty (door) tag
Date 09/79 (car was scheduled to be built in September 1979, an early car)
VIN 0F03D133104
Exterior paint colors 1P 1C DSO 26
BODY / VR / MLDG / INT TRIM / A/C / R / S / AX / TR /
61R /blank/blank/ WA / A / 4 / D / G / W55LL /
The paint code 1P is medium grey metallic which matches the buck tag, the 1C must be the lower black tu-tone. DSO 26 is New Orleans, I got the car in north east Texas so it didnt apparently stray too far.
The interior code WA doesn't show up on the charts I have seen, the parts I got with the car are black with black Recaros with that black/white pattern on the inner part of the seats including the rear seat. Car had AC, AM/FM Multiplex radio. I don't know what the "D" in the / S / column means, it doesn't have a sunroof. Axle code G is 2.26 (what a fuel miser LOL) and trans code W is the C-4. It does have the map light in the roof. Will try to keep this updated with any more info I found out. Hey moderators, how's my decoding skills LOL.

You might want to check out the right frame rail. The previous owner hit a electrical box. I think he tweaked the frame.

I googled my name just out of curiousity.. and found my name on here... interesting.. I bought John (jcv1980) a bunch of "things" for that car on ebay one year for christmas, so that is why my name was on a box in the front seat.. hee hee.. WOW I can't believe what a small world it is.. Enjoy the car, I know it was just an eye sore in my garage for SEVERAL years but never thought he would actually get rid of it. I hope you can fix it up to something special, I know that was a big dream of his.. sometimes life just gets in the way
(I am not such a bad person....:))
