I guess I won't be bringing a car.
I can't fix the brakes, and I don't want to bring the same car last year.

sweet. This year will be good for me.

I'll be there with the 86 vert, my bro will be there with the 86 ttop, and My father and I will have our 86 ssp coupe there... the "thompson 86 collection" can't wait!

If I can't get the 2 dr sedan past smog (I'm going to have to jerry rig another muffler on it) I'll be bringing the beat-up Fairmont wagon.

I'm not sinking money into the I6 exhaust system only to rip it out later when it gets V8ed.

I got my flyer in the mail. Two years ago I went and didn't pre-enter (had to park at Sears). I pre-entered last year then missed it being in the hospital. I hope to make it. Anything to do on Saturday night to make it worth driving over for on Saturday afternoon? Ken.
P.S. I get the car in the divorce......:)

You are required to buy tickets to the park. If you do not, they will impound your car and go joy riding in it.

haha i'm messing with you. Tony, you only need to pay the 35 dollars to enter your car in the show

Huh? Why would you need to leave early? You'll end up showing up early to do cleaning and get a decent parking spot. Then, you'll talk to a bunch of people asking questions and B.S. with other friends whom show up. Later, you'll go around looking at all of the other cars for hours..... Whoops, look how time flies and it's 3pm....;)

Hell, I'd make it where any mustang\Capri could park where ever they liked so long as it was within the confines of the area allotted for thier parking. The problem is that the organizers park you where they want you; in the intended group of other vehicles in your specific class.... You in the '79-86 'vert class; you park with them whether you want too or not IMHO....

If I had an EFI fuel tank, I can get it done - except the tank I have has a fuel baffle that can go walkabout. That and the engine may not be done in time...

The '83 Fairmont failed today - dead cylinder. If it's just a fouled plug I'm in business but if it's a valve, engine's toast.

Really? Cool! PM me a day to swap.

My '83 Fairmont passed (#5 plug fouled) so if there's still openings, I'm going to attend with the '83.

I'm "in," as of a couple of days ago. I'll be at Knott's once again with my '86 t-top coupe. We'll be in the same location, at the 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords booth, located in the grassy center area of the show (where the vendors and celebrated anniversary vehicles are parked). As it stands right now, I'll have the coupe and a custom-painted, supercharged '06 GT with me...a look at first-gen, late-model Mustangs and how far the've come to the S197 of today. PLEASE stop by, check out the cars and say hello. I'm looking forward to it.

Note to Dean T...You seem to be the resident SoCal, four-eyed "parts collector" around here (along with V8only), and you live fairly close to the Valley (closer than V8only and his brother). I've got a bunch of pieces that might help you with the '84 you're putting together. At this point, what is literally two boxes of various trim pieces and whatever else, are just in my way and I really don't forecast ever needing or using any of it. If you're interested, bring one of your wagons and load up, dude! Oh...what's it gonna cost you? If you promise to take it all (everything that I point out...NOT everything in the shop LOL), I guess I'll charge you the "high" price of a nice lunch or a case of beers or something LOL. I don't have an itemized inventory of the stuff and I'm not gonna take the time to make one. It's just a LOT of four-eyed Fox parts (I think it's mostly interior/SOME exterior trim, I know there's an '86 PCM and harness and other stuff).

As my wife always says, "KJ, you can put together a whole Mustang with all of the stuff you've got out in that shop!" Well, I already did (the coupe), so the excess can finally go.

PM me and let me know. DEAN ONLY. Not that we're best buddies or anything, he just lives the closest to my place and I know he rescues parts and cars like this (the kind that are on the verge of being thrown in a dumpster). If he wants, he can handle the inventorying and distribution of whatever parts to the rest of you all.

Now KJ,
My feelings are hurt! Not really. Dean is a great choice as we know he will take good care of the parts and make sure they get used. 1 - I wont be able to park near anyone else
2 - they'll make me stay until the very end
3 - it's 86 GT that looks beat to **** and is in dire need of a paint job, no one gives a rats ass about it
4 - Even if anyone does give a rats ass about it, I have a lot of expensive parts on the car AND I have a personalized license plate. I don't like advertising to the potential thieves how much money i've spent on the car.

I'll still go to the show to hang out with everyone

Yeah, we still meet at Po'folks.

As far as the cheby motor thing. They'll allow them in... I just wouldn't brag about tossing a cheby motor in there. One time a guy showed up with a nice hot rodded ford roadster... but constantly got teased about the cheby motor that was in it and left early. Another guy showed up in a pantera with a Cheby motor in it... and well... he got ripped on it too. If one can take the people teasing about it then go for it.

That is a common problem on the 6. I repaired mine Thursday using Loctite Thread Repair.

Seem to work much better than using a tube of gasket sealer to drown out the whistle.
Car runs better too.
The new timing chain might have helped that one.

Parts? What kind of parts?

I scored last year between buying those louvers from Jasen and the pace car cowl hood scoop from Jeremy/Corey.

Know anybody interested in a pair of nice black Sparco Evo seats w tracks for a foxbody?

I'm hoping KJ will be rolling to the show on his Marvomont 17" Ponys this year. Wanna see those!

Well, I have that other set of louvers for the 83+ Mustang. I'd like to find somebodt that will take them But they wont fit in the LTD LX.

I have a 82 Style dual snorkel and a 460 Dual snorkel aircleaner as well as one thats good for parts.

A capri instrument cluster panel and a Mustang GT cluster panel.

You & me both..... I've been working on the car every night now until far past my bed time..... I will continue to do so until the day of the show or I drop from exhaustion \ lack of sleep.......;)

I think I may be at my limit in parts. I have Jasen's old Futura tail light assy and at least two sets of lenses as spares (those lenses have a nasty habit of falling off). I just made a major purchase and need some garage space to put it in. I may bring some stuff in the trunk of the '83 2dr box top to get rid of too.

Oh, and I owe the feds and the state big bucks - whoops, I'm broke big time and in debt.

Know anybody interested in a pair of nice black Sparco Evo seats w tracks for a foxbody?

Are they standard EVOs or EVO 2s? My fat ass can't fit in standard EVOs.

Although I guess it's a moot point since yesterday I bought a new Corbeau seat for the BMW race car.

Will be doing detail work on my LTD this weekend. It got completely detailed a few months ago and isn't that dirty, so it's mainly touch up work.

I do have to buy new tires for it though. I was going to drive my car on the black Dodge steelies I have, but they rub in the back, and my g/f wants to come to the show with me, along with my dad who always comes, which means someone is riding in the back seat, which means they'd rub like hell all the way up. So onto the credit card will go a new set of Falken rubber for the '05 Mustang wheels.

Well my car is in no condition to show. I still have to do some wet sanding on a couple of drips from my paint job last month. But I'll be there to drool, take pics, and hopefully get ideas for what to do to the 'vert. Since I'm not entering, I'll just wander in whenever I can drag my ass out of bed.

Roger that. Last year I brought my '83 2dr sedan with the mangled hood and busted wheel covers. I'm bringing it again except with a hood of a different color and a much shallower dent. Still has the busted wheel covers.

Exactly

One year I saw a 1959 Edsel that looked like it was just starting to be restored. Had some sanded down parts, some primered parts and missing trim and some missing windows.

Another time a guy trailered his car in... basically a stripped down body!

They open at 8am, so we usually get there around then. It's usually a meet up for a bunch of us non-Stang freaks (LTDs, Fairmonts, etc) so we can all convoy into the show and park together (we have to park in the "other Fords" section), but anyone is welcome to join.

**** it. it is what it is. I threw some aircraft stripper all over the ten holes. Took all the crap and dirt off the front of it, as well as the clearcoat I believe. only spent a few minutes on them, but they look a lot better.

the 5 lugs will be on in a couple of months anyhow. the focus of attn is the explorer motor and black interior conversion anyhow.

I would have liked to do more polishing to my LX but Timewarner Screwed me over and I had to trouble shoot AND fight them over the phone for 4 hours. One of their contracted tech decided to use my cable line to get somebody elses up and going. So, now I have no internet or tv cable. And after trouble shooting and investigating I found that it was their fault. And now I have to miss work later today so they can fix their problem.

Good thing is... I get to polish the LTD more.

There's an ecology in Santa Fe Springs, not terribly far from Knotts. It sucks bad at that location, I wouldn't recommend wasting time there unless you are bored. Every once in awhile that yard gets some good ones, otherwise it's a bust 98% of the time. There is another ecology in Wilmington (near long beach) which tends to be much better but they recently reduced the size of their ford section in favor of imports. I went to the Wilmington ecology this past weekend and it was a bust there too.

You are right. Just wasted 2+ hours at Wilmington. Nothing there. a 79 Mustang coupe, and a vert. They took out 12 rows of Fords. Great red console in one, I took the armrest, 7k tach in one, good bumpers front and back. There is a LTD like Scott's that will probably go in on Monday. IT is in the back now.

I have the PBF Al Valve covers. Cool thing is, I bead blasted them when I got them. They're the early finned Al covers. I'll bring them along. I was going to use them but I picked up a pair of vintage M/T Valve covers. I plan on using them on the GT to honor Mickey Thompson and to have that vintage 80's mod'ed look. I was under the car this evening greasing the U-joints and didn't like how close the rear rubber brake line that runs from the body to the rear end was to the exaust pipe so I tweeked the steel line and it cracked :(! I freaken went nuts! It was about 6:45pm and I have no other transportaion to the parts store. I dug around and found two hard lines under my bench and cut out the rusty peice of tubing that was under the back seat (how does it rust inside of the car?) and reflaired the end and added a new peice. I borrowed some brake fluid and the neighbor kid to bleed the brakes and I think it is good to go. I don't want to hear how dirty my car looks tomorrow. If I just make it I will be HAPPY :).
