engine turning

I'm thinking of making a stainless plate to hold my gauges and i'd like to "engine turn" it.. does anybody know the the bit for doing this is called and where i could find one?

do you know if thats something you could get at an average autobody supply shop or would you have to order right from eastwood?

keep your money. all you need is a piece of hardwood dowel and some rubbing compound.
