I know most of you have seen the pics, but I like to show off. So, in celebration of our own little corner (I think they got sick of us hijacking threads), here is my Cobra.

Yeah, that Red and White interior is soooooo strikingly beautiful. It looks just as good if it's Blue and White. Those look Nice too! It's very cool to see a stock one that hasn't been molested.
Sometimes I wish that I'd kept mine like that. When I bought it, all it needed was a paint job, headliner (sagging), carpet (someone cut a hole in it on the side of the transmission tunnel) and tires (dry rotted but awesome tread). From there, I just would have had to detail the engine compartment.
Oh well, I can live vicariously through your's and David's (79Mustangcobra).

Sounds like our Cobras were in about the same condition when we got them. Mine has 35k original miles. Wasn't yours about the same?
I am pleased that the Cobras are finally getting some recognition, and it has taken the stock versions and the beautiful customs like yours to get us some. Yours is just drop dead gorgeous with power to boot.

Thanks. Yeah, mine had 27,667 on it and the speedometer says 50 and some change now. However, it's been off since I put the 4.30 rear gears in. I just ordered a 6-tooth transmission speedometer drive gear and a 21 tooth speedometer cable drive gear so that the speedometer will be right on. As for how many miles are on it now, I really don't know. I'm not too worried because I'm positive that the drivetrain will continue to change and improve as time rolls on. I want a stroker motor for it at some point and can't wait until I get it!

Similar to mine, sat for about 2 yrs with a motor half tore apart due to overheating. But it also had about 91,000 on it then.

I noticed your rear window wiper. I had a 1979 Capri RS turbo - Black w/orange - that came with a subwoofer box in the hatch area. The previous owner yanked the wiper & motor (I still have it somewhere, I sold this car in 1986) to allow the box to fit and sealed the hole with some black cork tape. Never leaked. Kick butt bass. How does your wiper work? Wasn't it a special switch on the left side of the dash? Great Car!

If you look in the picture taken of the interior from the driver's side, there is a knob just to the right of the middle of the steering wheel. That is the knob that turns on the wiper and actuates the washer fluid. Very cool set up. The washer fluid is filled through a spout that is positioned in the drip rail of the rear hatch.

Your Cobra and Pete's Cobra "Hissing Cobra" are two of the finest examples of 79 Cobra's out there.

A possible reference to the one-wheel-spinouts? I thought I was so cool back in 1988 when I could actually break loose the rear tire and leave a single pencil line down my street!
