Hey all,

I've posted about my newly aquired '80 Cobra on the forums once to introduce her but I thought I could repost some pics of it again along with some new pics and a little progress i made on her a couple days ago.

Attached is the door label and the CBR tag for info on her. Basically she started life as a 4.2 V8 auto car with A/C with silver and satin black paint and red interior.
Plans are for a a 4.6 DOHC 1998 Cobra motor with '99 Cobra heads, Sullivan intake and a carburetor on top. There will be atleast a 150 shot of Nos to back up the modified 400hp mod motor. Stage 2 comp cams are going in along with Manley forged rods and psitons. The T45 will be reworked by Pro-Motion and a built 8.8 rear will go in that will be narrowed 2" to help with the mini tub so i can fit the 10" wide wheels out back with a 295 or 305 mounted on it. 18s will go all the way around and a fully adjustable coilover suspension. I will maintain all the factory Cobra exterior parts except the paint scheme. No factory Cobra paint and graphics.

Here's a couple pics of her current state. She's still very solid with little to no rust. I already have a new rear bumper, moldings, hatch, and doors ready to go on. The shell will be sent to a local shop within the next 60 days to be media blasted. Most of the interior is out other than the dash, steering wheel, and misc. wiring.
More details to follow soon.

This is how she looked sometime in the late 90's? Looks as if this was 3 owners ago in Florida.

John: Not that it matters now but the original interior color was "Vaquero" (an Orange-Red, rust-looking color).

Looking forward to the progress!

That's correct it was Vaquero but I couldn't remember off the top of my head. I have one of the Cobra door panels sitting here and I just couldn't think of it. I do remember that there is absolutely no way in h*** it's gonna be returned back to that color for the interior LOL!

Was hoping this project would've been further along by now and my new 302 motor back in the 85 notch and running but other more important things take priority when you have a family plus the holidays were real busy. I'm picking up a lot of side work again which means disposable income for the 4-eyes soon.

John, It's gonna rock! You've got the best front nosepiece on it, hands down. Keep on updating this as you progress.

What's funny is I bought this Cobra from JB Oller who is a member on here (nice guy too) and he owns an Anny. 1984 Mustang GT350 Hatch with I think a 1996 DOHC 4.6 Cobra motor in it. What a cool car.
