pm's cleared out..
I have NO clutch cable at the moment, my pops stole it for the SSP :(
However, my new one should be here by the third..just in time..
I'd really like to make this one...I'll chat with you about this this week, thanks for the heads up...

ALright man, I'm in!!!!
As long as my clutch cable comes in Thur like it is supposed to, I'm racing for sure.
This should be VERY interesting.
Last time I raced a couple of months back, was at palmdale. I got a 14.9 on that ****ty ass track, with my ****ty rear suspension (which has since been completely revised...air bag, kyb's, quad shocks...so no more wheel hop) Not only that, but you gave me that dist which seems to have the advance working, where I suspect my old one never worked right.
It is VERY VERY possible I could hit my first 13....then they'll send me home and I'll have to invest all kinds of cash I don't have on a helmut and a cage...we'll see though, without sticky tires, I'll probably just sit at the line.

bitter-sweet.
because we're california, in the last 5 years, we've had at least two, maybe three tracks shut down permanently, one shut down for street legals, and a brand new upcoming track get cancelled before it ever got built.
Only 2 tracks left....both get every damned cali ricer in the state to show, so 8 hours = one run if you're lucky.

Glad to hear you will be planning for this one.... I got a spare adjustible clutch cable from Brother's Performance if'n you need it; lemme know...... I only use it as a "spare" in the trunk for just in case..... Yeah, we do get crowded out here at the track and the prep probably will not be the best. I probably will not have slicks in time for this weekend and i too need a helmet. But, I can borrow Bill's helmet; it's tighter than heck on my head but it'll work in a pinch...;)
P.S. Aluminum drive shaft, driveshaft safety loop, Exploder diff, 31 spline race axels, etc are all in....:evl:

I'll go for sure. I wont have anything to race though :( The 86 GT is down due to a bad alignment from a rack replacement. I just haven't had the time to drive the car into an alignment shop.

Seriously, take a half day off. That's plenty of time to get her to an alignment shop. You have today, tomorrow, or Friday to get it done......
P.S. Sears & Pep Boy's typically have auto repair facilities, alignment capabilities, and are open till 8-9pm......

I'll see what I can do about leaving early. Keep in mind, Rain is predicted for Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, and Monday. Theres a good chance this track day will get canceled.

Aw nuts, and I was thinking of bringing the '78 Wagon with it's slightly warmed over 2bbl 302 for laughs. Do they require a helmet for 16 second 1/4 mile?

Well for Southern California, the only two tracks that I know of that are still open to the public for street legal drag races are in Irwindale and Fontana. There is a track in Pomona but it's not open to the public.

where I have ran the 86, THEY RACE IN THE RAIN! Drag racing is like premature ij....ooops, I like it here and I don't want to be banned....Jeremy, as I said before, hitting 1:45 on the track is a good thing, hitting 0:13 on the track is bad, the fun ends too soon.

Since you is way out in the O.C.(I believe); you may have a couple options:
Irwindale, Ca. (Irwindale Speedway), 1\8 mile, Most Thursday nights.
California Speedway, Fontana,Ca. 1\4 mile, eclectic schedule, go to www.californiaspeedway.com and click on the "drag racing" icon for info.
Bakersfield,Ca. 1\4 mile, near sea level, and the best hooking track you can hope for.
I don't have any details since it is too far for me to bother driving there(3.45-4 hours one way).

Famosa....test track for most NHRA teams, and usually has the new world record every 3 years....
