79-81 Cobra Differences

I've been thinking of adding a 79-81 Cobra to compliment my 82 GT if I were lucky enough to locate one. Looking through the awesome cars that are on this site and others, I am a bit confused on the exterior styling that these early Cobra's recieved. More specifically, I have seen examples of Cobras with the "standard" mustang front grill and no rear spoiler, forward facing hood scoop such as the 82 GT. Other examples I see are of full spoiler package, cowl induction hood such as the 79 Pace Car. Also, graphic packages seem to be different between the years depending on the hood design. I apologize in advance if this question has already answered.

If you look at mine you will see the "regular" front end and forward hood scoop and no spoiler. Mine is a 79. There was a spoiler available for the Pace car and an example of this is on Hissing Cobra's whose is also a 79. Gregpro50 has some pictures up in this section of I think 2 81's. They have the other style front end. Depending on how far you want to drive I might know where an 80 or 81 is sitting but it was under a cover so I don't know what shape it was in. I'll put up a picture of mine to show you the 79 version. Good luck.

Ah, the 1980 Revised Cobra Option.... makes sense now. What had me going was the posting on another site showing a 79 Cobra titled as an 81.....

Sweet Ride. My first mustang was an 80 coupe with that same color. Didn't see too many in that blue.
