LOL! Why don't you give us a run-down on this particular Cobra anomaly, Greg?

I don't think he really knows anything about them, just like to hoard.

Do tell... Do tell... HAHAHA :)

I'd like to have one of these early Cobras someday. I'll definitely need a bigger garage.

OK I have two '81 Cobras. I bought them as a pair from a car collector and they have been sitting in his warehouse for about 15 years or so. It the pics it shows just the way I got them with an inch of dust on the top.

Here is the first one:

Its a 1981 Cobra blue with blue stripes and a blue interior with blue recaro seats. What makes this car strange is that it is a factory 4cyl NON-turbo engine with a 5sp transmission.

The second one is a 1981 Cobra, white with red stripes and hood snake, T-tops, black interior, and a 255 V8 with an automatic transmission.

The engine was replaced at some point with a 302. This car needs floors and some accident damage repaired in the back. I am well on my way to fixing these issues with an NOS Ford floorpan and taillight panel.

A couple of solid-looking cars. I guess the collector just saved them, in hopes of someone (like you) restoring them someday??

He was planning on restoring them but it seems like all his old shelbys are taking up his time.

Greg, I like 'em both. I'm inspired. I really think that my next Mustang will be a Cobra too. I just like them that much and around this neck of the woods, you never see them. I've seen one other one, it was an '80 and it was up at New England Dragway last year and the year before, during the Fun Ford Events. That one was complete and was running 11's in the True Street Bracket. If I remember correctly, it needed paint. Nonetheless, I was in awe.

If you do, I might know where one is sitting, although halfway across the country from you.

We'll see. It's a bit too soon right now but when I do become serious about it, I'm going to have to travel to get one. There's none around here and if there were, they would be rusted to hell anyway. I'm going to want one that doesn't have any rust.

The one I saw looked like an 80. I know it was missing some front sheetmetal and was black. Don't know about graphics since it was covered. I would think about it but recent medical situations have come up.
