I posted this in the ascmclaren forums, but thought I'd share with the four eyed folks as well...
Well it's been a long week (5.5 days). I just completed a 4300 mile round trip from Gilbert Arizona to Hank's in Florida. I towed my blue 85 McLaren coupe there and brought back an 86 white/orange coupe #49. I used the uhaul car hauler and was overall very pleased with it. I didn't have any issues except the wind seemed to toss me around quite a bit. I think that is because I wasn't using a large enough truck (I used a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 double cab).
The car is #49, vin 607703 and was originally a Texas car! Thus the car has no signs of rust on it, anywhere. It's in great shape, but it has at least 10 separate runs in the paint from whoever repainted it last. I'm going to take it to a few paint shops today and have them look at it. It's missing the radar detector but has the alpine 7272. No unique options, no power door locks or no power hatch etc.
Hank had a second 86 white coupe (orange stripe, orange rims) sitting there and he said he is willing to sell it as well. The second car had power door locks and a sunroof, but wasn't in as good condition as this one. I believe it is the #002 car that we discussed that was for sale in florida a few months back.
Ok, here are some pictures of my new car.. I have a pretty big smile today.
