85 Capri RS
11-30-2007, 10:44 PM
SOLD
i hate to do it, but im selling my capri. car is in virginia beach 23461, i am stationed at the dam neck base.
1985 capri 5.0L 5 spd manual, grey, grey interior, power windows, 114k.
small issue: the title is at home in gettysburg, so, 1 of 3 things would need to happen. 1.) if someone buys before december 13th, i can have the title mailed to you, and i will give a bill of sale when purchased. 2.) if bought after dec 27th, i will have the title on hand 3.) if you wanted all the extras with the car that are at home, you can pick up the title then.
body: the car took a slight hit on the passenger front side before i bought it, and when i got it, it wore a nose and hood from an 85 mustang gt. the previous owner had the front straightened out as best as possible, and when i got it, i tracked down a nose and hood from an 86 capri rs, of which its wearing now. it has a hood scoop from an 84 mustang gt turbo, and the whole hood, and the top of the fenders is flat black(to stop any rust from happening, the clearcoat came off when it was under a tarp) with the new hood on it, there is a minor gap issue, but shouldnt be too hard to fix. before i bought it, when the stang hood was on it, it flew up and dented the cowl panel. i since have pulled it back out, and filled the trouble spots in. there are 2 small stone chips in the windshield which can be repaired without having to replace the windshield. had a trailer hitch on it, but was cut off. no rust as far as i can tell. i will get under it tomorrow morning when it is light outside to verify this. pain looks ok at 10 feet. it has turbines on it right now with great tires, and capri centers(were a pain in the butt to find!)
engine: runs good, msd distributor, bosch platinum 4 plugs, long tube headers, off road h-pipe, dual flowmaster 3 chambers. electric fan on a toggle switch, smog pump delete pulley, a/c needs recharge, and has been converted to r134. has original air cleaner with 5.0resto snorkles. oil changed every 2.5k to 3k. has royal purple 20/50 full synthetic in it now. coolant resivour needs a cover, and the washer fluid motor doesnt work. battery is great and holds power. transmission shifts great. was an electric choke, converted to manual. rebuilt carburetor.
interior: relatively clean, with normal wear and tear for a 22 year old car. the seats are good, minus one very small rip in the driver seat, in the red trim part. the dash pad has a small drill hole in the center of the center speaker, with a small red light in it, which was for an anti theft system that was in the car. also has a 1/2inch crack right next to the light, barely noticeable. other than that, the dash is free from cracks. it has an aftermarket manual oil pressure gauge mounted to the south east area of the radio, installed by the previous owner. the rear seats are good, no issues. the headliner has some hand prints in it from a few friends who thought it would go back to its original form... it didnt. no rips though. has an aftermarket radio, which is sitting in the radio bay. the previous owner had a sound sytem in the car, but before i bought it, removed the radio and amplifier. i just re-ran speaker wire to all the speakers. has aftermarket speakers in original locations. the map light actually works. power windows work. the hatch release button isnt hooked up. fuel door button works. armrest has a very small crack in the top. when i got it, it had a 140 speedo in it, but it didnt work, so i swapped in an 85 unit, but i didnt change out the geartooth in the tranny, so the speed reads a bit off.
asc information(isnt an asc!) : the car was sold from a dealership that sold ascmclaren capris, and, came with some(i would asume) dealer installed options. they consist of: leather wrapped shift knob, leather wrapped steering wheel(i removed this cover), 140 mph speedo(stopped working, switched to an 85) , the power cord going to the rear view mirror where there are 2 suction cup marks from what i believed to be a radar detector, an asc wing on it, but it was removed by the previous owner.
extras: i do have some extra items that are capri specific, if arrangements and agreed prices are made, can go with the car. the issue: they are in gettysburg, pa 17340, where i live.
i have: the original 10 holes in good condition with capri centers, tires are low on tread, directional radials, a set of e6 and e7 heads, original capri hood(slightly damaged), 3 sets of tailights, 86 capri hatch minus spoiler, spoiler window trim for an asc spoiler(not the spoiler, just the other 2 pieces of trim!) 2 red door panels in ok condition, 1 left fender, 1 right fender(ones red, others black) , 3 sail panels, a set of hood vents, original lower valence which isnt in the best condition, but usable/fixable, original grille which has a fin or 2 missing from it, (3) 3 piece spoilers, one of which is complete, some early capri trim mouldings, 2 fl-a1 motorcraft filters, and alot of other random items, just cant think of the rest ATM, ask and ill see if i have it.
askin $2500 for the car, and to whoever buys it, we can work out a price on the extras. i hate to sell it, but i just bought a new truck, and in reality, i wont be able to do to it what i want to(complete resto with goodies) for about another 4 years while im in the navy, and i dont want to just have it sitting at my parents house like a lawn ornament. ANY questions, please dont hesitate to ask me, either in this thread, or via pm. more pics to be up hopefully tomorrow.
