Hey guys/gals, are you all bummed as much as me that there's nothing going on right now? I took the Cobra out Saturday on a nice cruise down to Dartmouth, Mass and couldn't help but think to myself, "Man, this things running great! I wish I could keep on cruising right down to Seekonk and hang with everyone."

I came back to reality when I got out of the car as nightfall was approaching and the temperature was something like 38 degrees.:(

Oh well, I can't wait until Spring!

I don't dare take it outside. They've already put down a crap load of salt. Car isn't undercoated so I don't chance it.

They salted here too. My cars are all put away until spring. I think that because up here in the north since we cant drive them year round and go to cruise ins and show all year that it just makes us appreciate it more when the season comes again.

Yeah, you're probably right. They haven't salted here yet but when they do, mine will be done for the season. Last year, I was able to drive it up through January. That was the first time I was ever able to drive it that late into the winter.

Yup, my DD SVO went into storage this past weekend. We had snow Tues last week and the local road dept put down the sand/salt mix. That's all for this year folks!

At least I got to take a nice drive out to Boston the week before :)

I MISS YOU GUYS

I took the Anny for a ride the other day but the battery is dead dead...i jumped it for a quick ride but came back home quick.
The capri is covered in the garage and I have not driven it lately.....some warm days are coming this week...maybe!

I can't wait for spring, it seems like we just starting hanging out before we called it quits for the winter...UHG

I really do miss the cruise nights/shows. My cars have been put away since Oct for the most part as I haven't had much time for them. I cleaned up the 85 really good on Friday and had it running, but that's about it.

I definitely can't wait till the Spring!

I feel the same way too Jeff. I miss cruising with everyone in a pack of 4 eyes. The winter is definitely disappointing.

We had a little dusting of snow.. :( I'm not a fan of winter by any means.. But winter does mean more $$ since Ken's work gets busier this time of year...

Maybe it's silly but even though the foureyes can't come out to play in winter time doesn't mean we all can't hang out some time! :)

I completely agree with you on not being a fan of winter. We all should hang out sometime and maybe even plan a 4eyed event of our own for Spring/Summer.

OK I am now officially sick of winter. After the storm this weekend and then today waking up to 8" of lake effect snow and then having to fix my mailbox after the plow smashed it to smithereens... I've had enough.

The 86 got out just before the winter storm hit here in the Midwest Saturday. It made it from the garage 1/4 of a mile to the machine shed to make room for the kid's '96 cobra in the garage. A little motor work to be done and the garage is definitely warmer.

I look forward to winter only in that it slows down the daily activities and allows more time to work on the cars. It also helps build the anticipation for that first cruise in the spring.

Up here, cruises peter out about Sept., so it definitely helps to have the cold cycle to regen the interest.

Both of my cars are off the road and are sleeping in the garage. I was tempted to take the 87 for a ride the other day but I'll be patient. I think the 87 may sit this year out in favor of the 86. I register 3 vehicles a year (2 trucks, 1 Mustang) but if my side work picks up then I'll have both cars plated

Its only Dec and I have the itch bad to drive the cars

Also if anyone would like to offer up a hand I am gonna be starting my bro's Capri project soon. I am currently looking for the trans and parts and when I find them then I'll be ready to drop the motor in.

Nope. I felt that there was too much salt still hanging around. Friday's HEAVY rains washed it away and I was hoping to get it out yesterday. On Saturday, I took the transmission out to change the speedometer gear on the tailshaft and also the gear on the end of the speedometer cable (that'll make my speedometer accurate - finally) and while I had it out, I decided to take the clutch off the flywheel to inspect it (it slips every now and then). I discovered that the flywheel is glazed over and the pressure plate is too, so I couldn't put it back together - hence the reason why I couldn't take it out yesterday. I'll have to order up a clutch and wait for it to be delivered in order to get it out on the next nice day.

I wanted to take mine out too, but the roads never turned black yet.
Always showing that pale white salt look..so nope. Also the secondary roads
are like a sandbox here! AWEFUL.

And today...

Yeah, I've definitely had enough of the winter, not to mention all of the salt and sand they've used. I miss the cars a lot but they definitely won't be out until sometime in April or May.

Jeff,
Nice pics of the snow!!!:D

Not to worry, in a few short months we will be basking in the sun at the first car show!! I just have to remember this while I'm shoveling all this white stuff! Oh well, happy shoveling....

capriman86
