i'll post the pics, basically everyone is telling him what a great job he's doing and i'm the only one saying wtf are you doing? a perfectly good black magic and did a total aero conversion on it.

don't get me wrong, if this was a 89 or 90 gt or something i'd be singing the praises and saying it was a nice car, it's just the fact that he did this to a black magic capri.

yeah it's someone on gtamc.com , mostly people from ontario, and me, from p.e.i, lol.
it's a good site, but different for a mustang forum because most of them seem to love their hondas.

i was using tact, i didn't tell him off, i just asked why didn't he just get an aero car to do that to. i compared it to him like taking a 77trans-am and putting a mid 80's firebird front on it. other than that i was polite,
maybe your meaning this thread that i've started here, lol

And .................
that's why I never go to the corral.
460Capri's bitter because he wanted some RS mouldings and kept having these imaginary conversations in his head where people would a) recognize them and b) compliment him on them.
I was an ass to him when he was looking for them, mainly because I didn't understand how it could be that big of a deal to have the wrong nose on the car and want the correct and extremely rare mouldings.
It's a shame.

After reading all that was posted on the corral I think it would be pointless to even respond to him. He is set on what hes doing and thats it. No amount of criticism whether positive or negative is going to change his opinion. It sucks bad since it is a Black Magic and I'm sure he could find the parts needed but its obvious he wont change a thing. I guess thats the reason why I would rather stay here and post. This crowd is more conductive to what the real reason is for having these cars. To preserve the look. I dont see why people would rather take the time and effort to change the front end over instead of just buying an aero. Yea the corral has more members but I like how there are more people here willing to help you out no matter what you ask. Some people on the corral really get an attitude on things. Hopefully he'll change it back but I dont see it happening.

me personally i own an aero car but i would never change the front of a capri to an aero thats just plain ridiculous.although i do like the interior of the aeros better, the capri in my opinion was the best looking of the foxbodies.my next project one day will be a capri with an updated interior .

i just read all that on the corral, i had no idea he was a member over there. i'm the only one on the other site questioning him about it. i kinda feel bad now as he's already heard my opinion on the corral from other members. why all this hate from the corral towards fep, are we outcasts or something. people mod there cars on here all the time, we just don't make them something there not, that's the only differance i see. we even have sticky's with 5 lug conversions etc, don't we? lol

This car seems familiar to me...probably saw it some time back.

Yeah, it's too bad. Another Capri probably down for the count.

Now he's just another face in the crowd when he could have stuck out like a sore thumb.

Very true, however, it MIGHT get their attention. In fact, maybe they could stick the old Black Magic parts on the Cobra Hahahah!

Primarily preservationists (FEP) versus the butchers. The butchers don't like preservation. Some people want to butcher their four eye to be newer look (some being downright hideous). They should sell and buy something new.

As much as I would love to hate on him, I didn't see anywhere that the Capri had it's original nose in place, as well as the rear bumper and trim. PLEASE DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I do NOT condone this kind of butchery...but from what I see him start with to what he finished with, he did a damn nice job. Too bad we could not have gotton to him before he commited this murder of a 4eye.

yeah he's gonna do it anyways, but you know, it is done, it can be done, but should it be done? no. you can drive your car with your feet too, doesn't mean it's a good effin' idea.
i just wish i knew this guy and lived a little closer, i'd have found him a clean 87-93 to put his parts on. and i'd have taken it home with me for a future project. i just found a cool project not 5 minutes from my house, a mustang II with the cobra package, and i'm thinking i can get it cheap. you don't see those every day either. mind you they are probably the most hated mustang ever. but done right, they can be a very sweet car. twas the first stang i fell in love with, i was 5 i think. lol

09-24-2007, 08:25 PM
Wow. Let's totally destroy EVERYTHING unique about the car. Oh, and devalue it too. I have never been a fan of the 87-93 GT front bumpers, rocker mouldings, and taillights (has to be on a stock car or nicely done car to look correct) and putting it on a Black Magic just takes the cake. I feel like going and buying a 93 Cobra and putting an LX front on it and 14" steel wheels. Gaaaa!!

I agree, he said right from the get go that he bought it with the body mods already done. I think he is making the best with what was given. Would I have done it the same way? I probably wouldn't have bought it to begin with, becasue it is too much to put back, so more power to him.

yeah, i was just talking to the guy, seems like a good guy, and in his defence he didn't know much about the black magic and he was looking for a good rust free chassis, and he got one. apparently it was a 4 cyl turbo. it was missing all the interior too and lots more. the good thing is a fox body is still on the road.

09-24-2007, 09:11 PM
My understanding is that the car is the way it was when he got it. he got it for a song.

The limited production black magic that he recieved ddint have ANYTHIng.. no interior, no nose no motor/drivetrain

HE had an 88. has all the peices to make it run.

and u arnt the first person.. LOok on page one and look at my reply. Its very crappy that its no longer a four eye. BUT at the same time I respect that he's bringing it back from the dead in one form or another. THere are many who like the wya it looks..

Question is, was this a Capri or a Mexican Mustang??? Didn't the Mustang (hatches)use the Capri shell with Mustang front ends? So basically if it was a Mexican Mustang, all he did was update it as they were already blasphemous.

LOL!... something like that... the mexican mustang was betwen a capri and a stang... the most capri-mex-mustang was the "bubble back" there where no hatchbacks... what he did was, quarter windows, aero front, lx taillights, hatch and saleen spoiler... I think the interior remains mustang original... why do you have such "agression" towards mexican mustangs anyway? LOL...

No aggression, quite the opposite!! I'd love to find one actually!! That's why I said if it was a mex-stang all he did was update it...their numbers(production) are not included in the Capri figures (I don't think), therefore they didn't lower the numbers produced. Whereas the upper NA cars that are being "updated" (more like BAD Rhinoplasty) are killing the production #'s of the Capri's which were very low to begin with. For the record I don't agree with the guys that are "updating" the 79 - 86 Mustangs to the Aero Nose style either. They're belly buttons... everybody's got one!! Hell in my neighborhood you can't go 2 blocks without seeing one!! Now the one 86 GT 'vert that's a couple of blocks away....he gets offers all the time!! When I moved in a couple of weeks ago we had 2 cars follow the trailer into the subdivision to see the Capri closer, they had no idea what it was!!

thats what happened to my 84 vert. when i sold some time ago it was a somewhat decent original car, when i saw it later on it was beat and had an aero gt front, sides and rear bumper on it. i bought it back, hopefully ill fix it someday.
