Is anyone going to Fun Ford Weekend at California Speedway October 19, 20 & 21, 2007?
It almost seems worth entering the car show for $35 as admission is $25.

Any details on the Saturday/Sunday car shows? Would Saturday be Concours and Sunday open classes? I will not race mine, but would like to enter a show and watch those whom are on the track. I am far from being concours and do not want to chance entering such a show!

I think its just a regular show on both days and you pay alittle more for both days

I'll be there with the Fairmont. They dropped the event here in Phoenix. Hope to see lots of Four Eyed folks there, Ken.

Any suggestions on a motel? I'm always nervous about leaving my car outside in an unfamiliar town. Thanks, Ken.

It's official!
I'll be at FFW/Fontana with my coupe. Kind of bittersweet. I'll be able to make it to the event, but, unfortunately I'll be there in a "show only" capacity (Saturday and Sunday). Last Saturday's dyno session showed me that the coupe's engine is insanely strong (not gonna say "how strong" here, but the dyno graph will be in a frame and displayed with the car :D), but it desperately needs bigger fuel injectors--like 160s--and racing the car in its current state might not be the best idea.:(
There's no way I'll be able to get the injector$$$ and afford another dyno $$$e$$$ion for tuning between now and Friday.
So, for now, my Street/Strip 'Stang is a show/trailer/dyno queen, which I'm not too happy about, but I hope folks will enjoy looking at it nonetheless.
See 'ya this weekend, and make sure you say hello/identify yourself as being from the site!:D
By the way, Ken, LaQuinta/Ontario is listed as the host. It's down by the Ontario Mills mall, which is a pretty clean and safe-looking area. There's also a Comfort Inn not far from the track (sorry I don't have the info). My wife and I stayed there one weekend of a PSCA race and everything was cool with the car/truck/trailer, etc.

I'll look for the dyno sheet and hope to talk to you. I'll be the tall (now I can say skinny) grey bearded red faced old man with the zinc yellow Fairmont. Thanks for the info on the motels, Ken.

Count me in if there's any room left in the show area. I thought about racing my 'vert; but common sense is telling me to avoid it until I perform a few safety upgrades(like a roll bar for instance). I look forward to meeting as many of you guys as possible! If i can help it; I'll have a ton of beer in the trunk.... ;).

Make SURE you find me, then! I'm gonna need something like a few ice-cold beers to help maintain my sanity, when I have to answer the question, "why aren't you racing it?" fifty-quatrillion times this weekend (actually, I'll probably take the Alumastars off and put the Shelby GT 500 wheels back on, to knock down some of the "race" look)!
I think I've got a few coozies in my trailer. I'll try and remember to throw 'em in the center console before I bring the car up to the show paddock.;)
Looking forward to spending a couple'a days with you guys (those doing both days), or at least Saturday. It will probably be "new-car" ('05-up) madness out there, since they seem to dominate most SoCal 'Stang shows these days, but the four-eye crowd will definitely try and make some fun of it.

Sorry guys.

And, what an AWESOME anniversary car it is!:) Beautiful 'Stang, dude. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife on Saturday, and checking out your mint '84! That's an outstanding Mustang. Also, good luck with the "comeback" of your '86 driver. I was glad to hear that you kept the car and brought it back to life. That's what it's all about.
Also, it was really cool to meet Anthony Dalrymple and Ken Newman from this Web site. Nice guys...great cars!
FFW/Fontana was a lot of fun. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Hey K.J. and Anthony it was great to meet both of you guys. Sweet cars too. I can only hope to have mine that clean some day. I'm sorry it blew so hard today but I guess that's mother nature. Hope to see you guys next year. We had an uneventful trip back (always the best kind) and got home about 3:30, Ken.

Thanks, dude. Actually, I only got one request...from a buddy's girlfriend. She's never been in/near anything with serious horsepower, and she says she's game for taking a ride in the coupe's second seat...and seeing how it feels when the hammer is dropped!
My buddy straight-out told her, "you're probably gonna wet yourself!" Hahahahahahahahahaha! We'll see.

Damb straight i'll be there! Ken, we really should start another thread instead of "extending" last years thread.....;) I'll likely be "show" only..... really depends on if i wish risking blowing up the current "weak" '86-89 WCT5 or not.....

Yeah.... That weekend "turned off" allot of my buddies whom I talked into going. Saturday drags cut short & completely closed down on Sunday. The worst part that really pizzed 'em off? No refunds were given for the weekend.... One pass for one friend equated to $200+....
I kinda wonder how many Ford fanatics will show up for year's event after getting burned like that last year...... "Burn me once; shame on you. Burn me twice; shame on me......"

I'd say that Tony had the cooler stocked! Not a lot of Ford cars showed up though. I'd bet there was close to as many brand-X race cars as there was Fords. There was less than 25 cars entered in the car show. Joe, nice meeting you and your friend. Hope to see you guys next year (if FFW returns), Ken.

P.S. The cooler was stocked and I only had one taker of the "nectar of the Gods"...... That's okay with me as these guys probably are now well :burp: aware of....;)
