Glad you can make this one John. The more mustangs, the better!

I believe that we will be meeting at the Home Depot in Bellingham at 7:00 a.m. That has worked good for the last two Mustangs Unlimited shows. If you get to that show much later than 8:30, we'd have to wait in a long line that is out in the road.

I'm in and may be bringing my brother and his '85 GT. I'm also going to ask Ken and Kate (Capri GT and Mrs. Capri GT) if they want to go. If I'm lucky, I may even be able to get my buddy and his Procharged '99 GT to come too.

The Home Depot in Bellingham at 7:00 a.m. sounds good to me!

I've have the perfect solution...Just stick a Ford emblem on the back and call it a day. Actually if you told them it was a German Mustang they probably wouldn't know the difference!

We should petition them to allow the Capri's. Why? At the last show, there was plenty of parking spaces available and those could have been used by the Capri's of Jeff and Fred. That's what I think!

I agree 100%. There are a lot of people that want to see Capri's. I think we should call them and say not allowing Capri's is shrinking our 4 eyed Posse!:D It's just wrong LOL!

O.k. guys and girls. Here's the itinerary for Sunday.

6:00 am - I'm leaving my house in Wareham with Ken (Capri GT) and Kate (Mrs. Capri GT).

6:30 am - Meeting up at the Middleboro Rotary at Routes 44 & 495 (exits 5 or 6) with my twin brother Paul (306GT). Also, three other potential Mustangs may be there too. One belongs to my friend Brian (ProCharged '99 GT that runs 11.80's), another to my friend Kenny (ProCharged '04 Mach I that runs 11.60's - 11.70's) and a friend of Ken's from the Cape Cod Jeep Club (if he goes with us, he's bringing his Mustang, which I believe is a '97 GT).

7:00 am - Meeting up at the Bellingham Home Depot parking lot on Route 495 (exit 18) with Jeff (Capriman 86), Paul (Mustangs4life1985), Steve (Rafiki47).

7:45 am - Meeting up at the Westboro rest area on the Mass Pike to pick up Dave (Bad5oh).

8:00-8:15 am - Meeting up with Josh (Mr. Joshua) and his '83 GT at the first rest area on Route 84. He'll also have a couple of friends from New England Motorsports.com with him. They've got a couple of badazz stangs too.

So, the headcount so far is:

Hissing Cobra
306GT
CapriGT
Mrs.CapriGT
Capriman86
Mustangs4life1985
Rafiki47
Bad5oh
Mr. Joshua

Fred,

Hang in there. I'm going to call them and make a plea. At the last show, there were many open parking spots. That's in contrast to what they told me on the phone when I called last time "We won't have any open spots for them". I'll let you know when I can get an answer from them.

mustang4life1985
09-06-2007, 10:50 PM
That's a good idea Pete. There were plenty of empty spots with the 4eyes at the last couple shows. I say the Capri's should be able to park with our 4 eyes. Hopefully they'll understand that the Capri's are a part of the posse.

Fred,

I just e-mailed Jim Silverman (President of the MCCNE) the following note. I hope it helps!

Jim,

My name is Pete Slaney and I own the Yellow 1979 Mustang Cobra that you've seen at your shows. I'm coming to the September 9th show at Mustangs Unlimited with a large contingent of 1979-2006 Mustangs and their owners. It should be a good time!

I'm also a member of a national website called www.foureyedpride.com (http://www.foureyedpride.com) and it's a Ford Mustang/Mercury Capri website that deals specifically in the 1979-1986 model cars. Within the past year, we've been organizing cruises with many of the Massachusetts members of that website. We've been going to cruise nights and car shows together (including the last two at Mustangs Unlimited) and usually cruise in a pack of very nice '79-'86 Fox Bodies.

Some of the members own Mercury Capris (the often forgotten "Other Mustang") and they feel excluded from your shows because they're "Mustang Only" shows. I know that space is usually limited and your club only deals with Mustangs, but I was wondering if some of these guys could come to that show with us on the 9th. They know that it's a "Mustang Only" show but would like to come for the cruise down there and the camaradarie that we all share together. Somehow, if it's possible, could a spot be made for maybe 3 or 4 of them? That would be nice if it could be arranged. I'd like to include them if possible because it's awesome to see the '79 - '86 Fox Bodies cruising together in a pack (I could have close to 17 members of that board cruising down with us).

If you could get back to me on this, that would be great. If you decide that we could include them (even if it's off to the side), you'd surely make their day!

Thanks again,

Pete Slaney

I really don't think they will allow the Capri's in. Only because they would have to make exception to other Ford/Mercury family cars.

True but it is arguable that 79-86 Capris were the closest relation to a mustang there has been.

Hey guys, my car is clean and ready to go.

As far as the Capri's are concerned, you can park in the lot of that resturaunt on the side of MU. I am sure if you are there early you can get right up next to MU. And if people see a few of you lined up they will surely walk over for a peek. I understand it would be nice to be included, but this is an alternative instead of just not going.

Now that is what I'm talking about right there!:tu: Steve has made a really good point about getting there early and parking right next to the show. It is "REALLY" close to the show and would make people walk over. Definitely bring your Capri's and park there. I think they'll be surprised to see that many Capri's. The way I look at it is, we all go for the cruise and enjoy the day.

That is a great email Pete and it's definitely straight to the point! Nice job!

Totally understandable Dave. Not worth the risk.

I am sure we are all questioning the weather. Pray for NO RAIN.

There was a guy at Bangma's Dairy cruise tonight with at GT350 CFI Vert with 6k original miles. He might meet us at Home Depot Bellingham.

So if anyone gets there and this car is there, his name is Bob..very nice guy. He is 74 years old. I love to see the ole timers loving the foxes!

Hissing Cobra
09-08-2007, 11:47 AM
Yes it does. I just saw that there's a 30% chance of rain tonight and possible thunderstorms in our area tomorrow. I didn't see the weather report for Connecticut but I'll be looking for it tonight. At the last show, it was misty, foggy and wet until I reached the Mass Pike. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Hopefully, it'll be the same tomorrow. I'll keep y'all posted.

As for Jim Silverman from the MCCNE, I haven't gotten a response to the e-mail that I sent him. If you Capri guys want to go, maybe we could park you all together in the parking lot behind the food vendors? I'd love for you to all go!

I also have another friend coming and he's bringing his '92 hatchback that runs 13's. His cousin may also be bringing his Lincoln that has a 347 in it. That run's 11's!

The weather better be good because we could have up to 20 cars with us tomorrow!

mustang4life1985
09-08-2007, 11:57 AM
There is something about this car show and "odd" weather. It can never be a "good" day to start for this show lol. The first show in April was foggy and damp and then the sun was out in Manchester and I got a sunburn. Tomorrow the weather is looking better for here than it is there which is the total opposite of previous meets there.

This looks like it could be the biggest turnout yet too. The weather is showing low 70's here and showing low 80's and humid with chances of rain in morning and afternoon for Manchester. We'll have to look later tonight and see what happens.

O.k guys. I just checked the weather and as of right now, it appears that there were some scattered thunderstorms that have moved through Connecticut and into Massachusetts (I didn't get anything down in Wareham). The weather channel website also stated that there's only a 30% chance of showers tonight and possibly tomorrow morning, with the possibility of some tomorrow afternoon. That being said, I'm still gonna go.

So, here's my updated schedule for tomorrow.

6:00 am - leaving my house
6:30 am - meeting at the Friendly's at the Middleboro Rotary (Exits 5 & 6 off of Route 495/Route 44 area).
7:00 am - meeting at the Home Depot in Bellingham (Exit 18 off of Route 495)
7:30 am - meeting at the Westboro rest area on the Mass Pike (1st rest area AFTER the Toll Booth at the Route 495/Mass Pike interchange.
8:00 - 8:15 am - meeting at the first Rest area on Route 84.

I had a good time today. I actually went around and looked at all of the cars. Pretty good turnout considering what the weather forcast looked like. Thanks for the compliments guys!Congrats to Steve and Pete also. It was fun cruising with all of you. Too bad we got seperated on the way home. We can still do another cruise before the season is out if you guys are interested. I'm planning on going to Epping for a test & tune session before the season ends. Any takers? It would be a good time to hang out and make some passes down the 1/4 if anyone is game enough. If not you could just hang out with the rest of the guys.

Good time guys! The turnout was pretty poor because of the weather, even though it never rained. The sky spit a couple of times but that was it. I guess it was enough to scare away a lot of the potential show participants. There were NO Boss 302's, Boss 351's, or Boss 429's. There was also NO Mustang Cop Cars (California Highway Patrol, Florida Highway Patrol or Georgia Highway Patrol units.) There was only 1 Shelby Mustang and 1 SVO.

Also, they could have let all of the Capris into the show but they said "No" and even made Matt (1986RavenBlack) hide his Capri behind some bushes in the parking lot in front of the showfield. Later on, they allowed a McLaren Capri into the showfield and that raised my eyebrows because I never received an answer to my e-mail about the allowing of Capri's. After that, Matt was able to plead his case and was allowed to bring his '86 Capri into the show. It's a true survivor and with some TLC, it can be brought back to brand new condition. It's not too often that you can find an original, unmolested Mustang or Capri, especially when they're equipped with a 5.0/5-speed combination. There's no rust on it and he has a blank canvas to paint his picture - an excellent starting point, as it's "all there".

We had a nice ride down there though, as there were 9 Mustangs.

1979 Mustang Cobra (Hissing Cobra)
1983 Mustang GT (Mr. Joshua)
1984 Mustang GT-350 (Capriman86)
1985 Mustang GT (Retro50)
1985 Mustang GT (Rafiki47)
1992 Mustang GT (My friend Noah's)
1993 Mustang Coupe (WETDRM)
2004 Mustang Mach I (My friend Kenny's)
2005 Mustang GT (My younger brother's)

I ended up winning "Most Popular" in the 1974 to 1993 category, while my brother Retro50 took first place in our class (if someone wins a Most Popular trophy, they are excluded from other placings). Rafiki47 (Steve) bagged 2nd place with his White '85 GT ('85 Upper front bumper cover with '87 GT style front lower airdam and foglights). It looks nice with the two bumpers joined together.

All in all, it was a decent day but I wished more cars had shown up.

It's too bad the weather scared everyone away such as myself. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. and the weather was not good at all. I didn't think it was going to be a good day.

I would have liked to be there with everyone. There are still a few cruises left and the NE Tech show in Oct. I am glad to hear that they finally let Matt's Capri into the show. I definitely don't think the Capri's should be left behind and hidden. Congrats again to the trophy winners!

I was so glad to see you showed up with it. I can't get enough, capri's are
just eye candy for me. I still can't believe that hatch and I still hate your for it.
Its too damn clean!!! LOL

John(Moby) I can't believe they stole flat panels...those are getting to be so cheap
now too! People suck.....let them know when you catch them the FEP posse' is pissed
you couldn't make it and we will kick their arse!

Paul(306GT) just wanted say thank you again for the door panels! They are going
to help my capri tremendously! My warped ones are coming out! Your awesome
and thanks again!

And as always...it was nice seeing all you's guys and gals.

Working on the pics fellow FEP'ers...won't be til tomorrow...I know boo-hiss!
