How come you only need about 100 posts to become a "Senior Member?" Shouldn't the scale be a lot broader than that with post counts in the thousands. Especially since the site has grown a lot in the past few years.

That's some default setting from vBulletin, nothing of our doing or choosing. I've never placed all that much importance on post counts or automatically generated member titles.

Not that I'm interested, but some members would probably drop $10 via paypal or so to buy a custom member title under their screen name. Some boards do that, and it's a little revenue generator for them, "little" being the key word there.

I'm really not interested in taking people's money as that tends to open site administration up to even more blistering criticism. Many people wind up with the attitude that they've paid money, so therefore they should get preferential treatment, should be able to dictate what they believe is right, and so forth. I'm going to avoid taking member's money for as long as I possibly can due to the nastiness that it sometimes fosters, as evidenced elsewhere.

If a "new" member happens to make 100 posts without being banned by evlgt85; then they deserve the "senior member" title....;)

Thanks for the explanation. I have wondered how this status was being set when I have seen some members that have been registered for less than a year having a "Senior Member" status while others having been on the board for numerous years were not. :tu:
