Bowman, if you see any Mustangs or Capri owners in your area, 79 to 86 vintage, tell them about the event and drag them along...just let me know for a head count.
I have been really busy lately dealing with chores at home, but I will get back to it soon and reply to the e-mails and such. Got to start scrounging materials for the cook shed.

Hey Neil,
Got my SVO!! But.......it's still kind of ugly (see below) and I have relatives coming from out of state that weekend. Perhaps if I can talk my brother-in-law into making a road trip up north, I'll be there. Unfortunately it will somewhat depend on the weather and if I get the AC working by then. He has MS and cannot take alot of heat. What's the lastest I can confirm attendance? Odds are good for me if the weather forecast is cool.

wahoo!!! i saw my first SVO on my b-day (july 22nd) they happened to have a car show where i was working a huge car sale all week, on my only day off (my b-day) and the mustang club was there! i thought it was too much of a coincidence (probably spelled that wrong but i dont care) there was a canyon red 86 SVO that was beautiful. made my week LOL i got the turbo on and running tonight. what a PITA that was. its running better, but i dont know whether it will run perfect or not, until i get some miles on it. its looking like she'll be making the trip on her own power, but no guarantees yet. im considering hauling it even if it runs good. it will be less fuel (yea, hauling it with a powerstroke diesel gets better mileage than my 4 cylinder car!) if i take the truck too, i can set up my truck bed tent, and have extra room to pack stuff. besides, it has A/C, cruise control, power windows, and a CD player lol mark would probably smack me if i towed it though LOL
anyway, im trying real hard to get her going. talk to you soon

That's great, glad you can make it this year. I found 2 more cars in the next town south of me this evening, and I think both of them will make it...brand new people...new is good. Looks like more than 10 4 eye cars from the B.C. area will show up. now is the time to fill out the forms and get the 40 cars in the field !! I secured the second grill tonight from the model field that I fly at, and 2 sun shades.

Jeff, just send cash. If you trailer the car, you can park the trailer in the other large field behind the house ( look at the 2006 pics on stangranch.com/bbq ). Ya, tables would be good, and some ice cooler chests if you are driving a truck. I can get 2 sun shades from my model field, and will be building another cook shack for shade. Camping is fine too....the porta-potty will be delivered friday am.
......I had a vision today.....for the 10th. bbq, we should try for an even 100 cars !!

And where have you been hiding from me at ? There is a white vert on the flats of 529 between marysville and everett. There were several gt350's at the roundup, and I am trying to contact them. For those of you driving through Seattle, be warned that traffic is a mess with road construction. I would like to start at 10 am, and you will need extra time to get through downtown. I spoke with "Laredo" this morning, wants to get his SVO up here, and we agreed that he would need to leave Camas, WA. at about 6 am. If anybody wants to pitch a tent and camp in the field, there should be others, and I can bring the grill over early. The outhouse will be delivered friaday am, and the handwashing station will be set-up. Most of the guys from BC will arrive friday afternoon also, but they got motels in everett booked. They had a breakfast meeting and will arrive in a caravan. Makes me want to perch on an onramp 8 miles north and "intercept" them..heh, heh. KEEP the registrations arriving please, as "Thomas" from last year with the black stang bought another car and will be parking TWO of his cars in the field along with a buddy with a third. I'm taking the Capri out today to round up some more "chase-downs"...wish me luck....I talked to F4FNTM, and told him that the stangs MIGHT outnumber the Capri's this year, that made him happy....(calls them "bulgy-fendered freaks"), but hey, we are a tight group. This is also open to ride alongs, if you want to bring someone with you...just cover the $6 for food. Other cars that arrive that don't fit the catagory will be placed in the other field. This will be a pure 4-eye event. I can't wait !!!!! I also have the time to run the event into sunday also if enough people bring tents...just let me know. BRING folding chairs...

i really hope i can make it, at least im close, it all depends if i have work this week, actually my landlord will give me money since my birthday is august 17th and he likes my mustang collection as hes a diehard ford guy with a nasty 78 mustang II. so i think hell or highwater ill be there, i tried to chase down another 85-86 a few days ago, and im going to see if the owner at hughes automotive with a 85 gt t top white like mine will go..you might even call him he is kinda not nice or i would still work for him but, he runs a shop so hes stressed out. i cant remember his name. if i remember ill see if hes there tomorrow. my starter is going out so i might have to push start my way down there, lol, i love having a stick.
i have no jack that works i would change it. anyways this meet will be a cool make up for the lame birthday i will have the day before

I went to see Huges automotive in my Capri today, and gave him the flyer. Then I stopped at another shop with a Mustang, and the owner went nuts and grabbed a flyer....then up the street to the car stereo shop where everything was thumping and bumping,,,more flyers out, and one guy took pics of my car as he used to work at the shop that I did down the street. over all, a good day...just me and the car.

Neili went down 4th where the mustang ranch guy lives with his 85 vert 5.0 auto and talk to him, i didnt have flyer, he said he might go, but my printer is down so i dont have any flyers, hes next to car toys towards 128th right on the corner where the 7up sign store mart is, cant miss it yard full of cars and a black vert in the yard and a light blue 79 notch in the driveway. house looks like a duplex, hit him up if your in the area again Neil. if you want you can meet up with me in everett so i can give you the 6 bucks and the form and if i have enough gas we can scout out some everett 4eyes :)

Still looking forward to friday! i drive my car for 1-4 hours every night, gotta get that 351w broken in! anyway i put on some granatelli weight jacker LCA's today, along with their adjustable uppers and it really helped, the car feels more "firm"..but since i am running no sway bars it's still mushy and rolls like my truck on high speed turns, but i got her stopping good luckily, that 351 can pick up speed quick! wow it's 3 AM...better get to slepp

Please post this link in the mustang forums site, as I do not belong to that one...
www.stangranch.com/bbq (http://www.stangranch.com/bbq)

If the owner will call me to confirm their attendance, then all will be good. Anybody that wants to be a spectator is also welcome..IF..they call me and pay the $6 for the food. Their cars will be parked in another field with the hoods closed. This will be a 79 to 86 event, no exceptions. Dogs and alcohol are a no-no also. I have had some whinning and sniviling about later model cars attending, but it ain't gonna happen.
Go to a friends house with a printer and roll off a few copies of the 2 pages from the website and pass them out around silver lake if you want to...just keep enough gas in the tank to get here.

Neilwhen i got there...late, there was only one white one

Neil,
is there a schedule of events for the day?? I have to work late Friday night so I won't be leaving Portland at 6am thats for sure. Anyways, just want to make sure i don't arrive to an empty field.

I would like all to be at the field at 10 am..then the photo shoot of the cars. around noon or 12:30 we line up for a 8 mile drive around the airport and then regather to start the food. from there out, it's just eat, BS and show cars with a few rides shared in the afternoon intill people need to start heading home. some will be here all weekend too, camping in the field and hold up in motels.

Well I'll do my best:):):) By the look of things it's going to be best to avoid Seattle at all due to raod works. I was thinking of traveeling I-5N to 18E, 167N, to 405N and then back onto I-5N near Lynwood. Sound like a good plan????

WHTLTHR79RS
08-16-2007, 03:42 PM
I would check the Seattle news like komotv.com and look for a traffic report for downtown seattle. I guess that traffic has been moving ok and the work is way ahead of schedule. Ddon't need to go too far out of your way.

Q.I was wondering if I my child came (7 years old, going on 14)would he have others to play with or would he just drive me crazy ?
By last years pics, there is lots of room for him to run,are there any restictions that would
apply to him?

Thanks Neil.

Twistin, there might be some other kids present, not sure how old. Beside my field is another field that belongs to the church, and they still have some "old west" buildings standing that were used for the week long bible camp for youth. Bring a footbal if you want, as my field is 100 X 300 meters. The biggest thing is crossing the border, as I have to have a CERTIFIED copy of my kids birth certificate to get back in the states. Know what you need to possess a child while crossing the border. Also, wear good shoes.
