I am only looking to buy 1 capri and I will look at a closer one for the same price today it is mostly stipped and gone but the flaired fenders are there and it is a good title. If I modify it a bit to make a capri/mustang hybird, i would not want to do it to that car, for nestalgia reasons, and i would be shot by someone here.
thats why I FYI'd the listing to you guys

When you go see it snag the vin and the door tag info. Also check the radiator support area for a tag, if it reads CAT you have found yourself a real black magic!
Now personal opinion is this:
1.) If the seats are gone don't fret, they come up on ebay, or get some after market seats in black with gold centers.
2.) Unless the floor is really shot to hell, it can be saved with subframes.
3.) You can still get the stripe kits for $200-300 bucks incase you want it repainted.
4.) And as for the motor since its a four banger, I would jerk it out and put 88 turbo 4banger in from a turbocoupe. Several members on here are making 400hp for the same money as a good v8. also this way the car stays as a 4banger car.
5.) find some good looking rims and have them powder coated gold to look like the orginal wheels....
This is the basic plan I laid out for my beast, return the outside inside to almost stock and hot rod the motor, without adding extra cycliders!
Frankly if its not rusted to hell and you have the funds I would jump all over it, it looks complete. I paid $1,500 for my RS, where as this is a freaking black magic, there were only a few thousand made total, and fewer with that drive train combo. Thats why I said to turbo it.....
Also here are some links for you.................
Look at the 81-82 years for that car......

If its a real CAT,You will wish you had bought it when you finish another one...............If you got to fix it anyway .......I think most any CAPRI owner would love bragging rights on a real CAT!!!!!!!!!!

ok, I am trying to figure out the plan to pick it up. buying it is not the problem, where it is located it. it will run me about $350 in towing to get it home. millage pluss ferry costs for tow vehicle vehilce in tow and myself driving back. I would get it to put it in a garage and do nothing to it. maybe fix it up later or resell it, but just to keep it safe.
my plan only has enough $$ for 1 capri to be bought for my future plans to be customized and built for the 2.3 volvo dohc engine i am building.
The cat car should be restored i agree. so now I am banging my head against the keyboard as I can only want 1 capri but have 2 before me that need to be picked up.

i am very familiar with what a 2.3 turbo can do. I own and run www.fordturbo.com and am a moderator on www.turboford.net
my daily driver is a svo comp prep here are my personal cars to date www.fastest4d.com
my goal was not to find and simply restore a capri but to build a sweet looking machine to run my engine. I unfortunattly am torn between the two now, and will do my best to pick up both.

Hehe.. welcome fastest4d. Fordturbo.com is an invaluable resource, I've probably used the FAQ and engine tech 100 times. :)
You haven't said much about the 2nd car you're after.. details? I'd probably vote for Black Magic, it's my favorite Capri.
And how's that Volvo DOHC head coming? I've heard of lots of people working on one, haven't heard of a finished one.. is there a website or a good forum dedicated to those?

the vovlo head engine I know of about 4-5 running right now and more in the works, there are a handfull of pages about the write-up on how to do it. ( I am also working one up for fordturbo.com.) i can forward you some links if you want. they are saved on the desktop, got the laptop right now.
the most reacent praise story on a sucessfull volvo headed engine was phils engine 683hp 509TQ

the 2nd car i was looking at was a cheap parted out capri, not much to say about it, no int. nose hatch tail lamps, top of engine gone. but the fenders doors and quarters are dent free with a clear title. was gonna stip down whatever car i bought and build it my way. full cage, suspention, bare interior, probably 2 seats and a on board camera.
I just have not looked at capis' before until recently when i decided to not just have another mustang i wanted flaired fenders and a meaner look. but since i don't know much about the capri, whats rare and whats not, I was just asking what is interchangable to see what/how many options for looks i could play with.
i do not do anything untill i have enough reseach under my belt, thats why I came here to ask.
thee are a number of pages that do not work here, i keep getting error page when i look at production numbers and what not.
how many black majics were made? what years? how rare are these? how many capris were produced in general?
