well, got a buddy putting a 86 turbo coupe motor into an 89 lx ( yeah I know its an aero, but we need help). motor is in now but need help with the wiring. he has the complete harness out of the 86 t bird and the vane. what's gonna have to be changed and will anything from the 89 be used? also, are the injectors low or high impedence?

You can use the belt setup from the 89, the intake from the 89, the valve cover from the 89(why would you :) ), the fuel line rails from the 89(I think those are better design than the 86 engine don't know for sure).

thanks for the reply. as for the motor itself, its no trouble, its the wiring. do we need to just yank the 89 harness and put in the 86 one or are we gonna have to change a lot?

If I am not mistaken you would just use the 89 harness, add some pins for the vane air meter, knock sensor if yer going to use it, and make sure to plug in the BAP in place of the MAP sensors.. Maybe air charge temp too, i'm not sure if the 89 N/A EFI setups had that or not.
