Anyone know if these will work in a stock SVO engine. Ive emailed the guy several times to see, but they are them dont respond to email kinda people.

Id like to upgrade my rods if possible, Ive been told they are the weak link in these motors. I plan on using nitrous with this car, and dont wanna break one in half. Im kinda falling in love with this car now:)

Your wasting money. Unless you are pulling the motor apart often and dont want the hassle of pressed pins, then what is the point?

You said its stock, and I ASSuME you plan on making anough power to feel you need these? What power level are you shooting for?

Not only am I running stock rods, but my short block is as Ford built it 100,000 miles ago. It has not had an easy life since I have had it in the car. Hell, it saw no less then 5 120mph pulls less then an hour ago. It goes to the track , or the street races. Thats it. Only "nice" driving is TO the races.

Shooting for around 400 plus rwhp. The car will be a nitrous car, on top of the turbo. Is that the only differance in the rod, that it is full floating, where as the stock rods are press fit? I can have my pistons machined for the clips for free:) I just dont want the stock rods splitting down the center. Again, I was told the rods are the weak link, and that the pistons and crank are the stronger parts. Id like to get the car in the 10s eventualy

My 2 cents.. I've heard of people running 500-600 hp on stock bottom ends. Head gasket is the weak link, but it kind of should be.. like popping a fuse, instead of a rod. But if you have cash falling out of your pocket, don't let us stop you.. I'd personally invest the money in head work or a bigger turbo.

Right now Im just going to put on my direct port kit on it.

I do have a ported head, and Im gonna send it off to get extrude honed soon. I do plan on building up a fully built motor for the car. Ive come to realise, that you can mod these car and not have people hate you as long as it stay turbo4. My thing is 1/4 mile racing, so thats where itll be at. I have a T76 I thought about using on it eventualy, as well as building my own tubular intake etc. theres a white car on the net I saw once that has realy impressed me, and has given me motivation to keep mine a 4 pot. I agree with the head gasket thing,,,Id rather pop a head gasket, than spit out a crank, rod etc. I can afford to build a good motor, just not all at once. I just realy like goo dparts if that makes sence. Im also a perfectionist, so I love the tiny little detail stuff. Ill be posting the front clip rebuild, body color change etc here as soon as the weather cools.

Well, if your working with a budget , then definatly do the bottom end last. The rods are exactly the same as Boss 302 or 289 hi po rods if you were to look at them.

I am thinking who ever told you that was actually thinking that the rod BOLTS are the link link. I have seen that written 100 times. And while its true, its an HPM issue, not a horse power issue.

If I had to guess, I would say that the white car you saw was Tim's SVO (1hot4pot)
