Back in 1988 my brother and I took a road trip in my first Mustang, A 79 turbo Cobra. Along the way the throttle cable snapped. We were in no man's land South Dakota on our way back to Missouri. To temporarily fix it we found another cable with a knob on the end hanging under the dash that went into the engine compartment. the knob was in a harness that was screwed into plastic that was once part of the dash. we hooked that cable to the throttle, tied a shoestring to the knob in the interior, stuck the shoestring in a gatorade bottle, closed the bottle, and stuffed the bottle between the seat and console. To accelerate we had to pull back on the bottle while trying to shift. at the time we decided that cable was for a manual choke.
Fast forward 18 years to my other 79 turbo Cobra. No manual choke. All electric.
Does anybody have a manual choke in their car???
