2.3t miss -Saga continues lol

got it running and driving today, turbo spools great!



BUT! It has a miss beginning at 4k either during normal driving or during spirited driving. some times in if barely ease into it it will rev a bit higher but it still misses.

I dont think its boost related as i brake boosted it in 2nd and it hits full spool with no problems until the rpms hit ~4k.

It does it reguardless of engine temp although the engine idles noticibly better when its warm.

Check your fuel preasure , and replace the ect sensor .
I fiddled with a very simular problem ,but it was running richa at an idle .....long story short , the ect was bad ,and threw no codes.replaced it and I'm @21 psi no miss and 32 mpg ....86 TC., w/ fmic

ok my car is runing rich at idle and is killing plugs what is a ect

ECT is the coolant sensor between the 2 and 3 injectors.

ECT is indeed a common problem on these cars, especially if the original is still in place.. Be careful when removing it, not sure if all are but the original one in my brothers gt-350 was made of friggin plastic, and probably due to previous owner's poor maintenance habits (read: old nasty coolant) broke when trying to remove it. Had to drill/tap it to try and get it out, didn't work, ended up breaking the remaining part into chunks to get it out. Then needed to remove the lower all together to get the crap out of the coolant passages.

Ouch. I think its a 1 inch deep whell socket that'll fit it. Using a wrench SUCKS...and thats OFF the head.

What is the plug gap? What type of plugs?
