Which models have the correct remote mount TFI? Maybe I can find one in the salvage yard. Do I just need the heat sink and the extended wiring?

Just need the heatsink really. F150s, V6 Taurus, think Thunderbird V6s.

I used a gutted TFI for the extended wiring.

Did you just extend the wiring from the fender to the wiring cut off the old TFI? What are the 3 wires hooked to the heatsink?

Those three wires are the wires that connect to the PIP in the distributor. normally when the TFI is mounted you never see them as it is connected automatically (for the most part) as you install the TFI, but when remote mounting, you have will have to extend those wires as well.

Ive got the heatsinks, I havent opened the old TFI yet, but was wondering why couldnt I just use the 3 wires existing, instead of gutting the old one and soldering in 3 new wires??

You can. I just chose not to. Second time around I had plans of doing it like that but never got around to it.
