View Full Version : New England Foureye Meet?

Hey everyone I have an idea for a New England version of the Foureyedpride summer meet that I thought I'd run by you guys/gals and get your feedback on. Let me know your thoughts.

On Saturday, July 29th, the legendary TASCA Ford in Cranston, Rhode Island is having their annual All-Ford show. This show is for all Fords of all years. I thought it would be good to organize a drive down there so we could all park together and show the R.I. area what a good foureye is all about! How bout it?

I know it's quite a ways for some of you and it's at least an hour's drive for me but the drive alone would be cool with multiple foureyes. 8) We could also stop for breakfast someplace if we leave early enough.

Let me know!

oh what the hell

I have a summer outing from my work at Canobie Lake that day.
All the tickets are paid for ERRRRRRRR

Just ruined my day :(

Sorry! I wish you could go. :( On the bright side, Canobie Lake Park is the best park around (and I've been to 6 flags many times.) I like the family type atmosphere and the landscaping is totally beautiful. They take meticulous care of that park. Have fun!

Come on guys, I know someone else wants to go. Let me hear from ya! :D

Hey Pete,

Wasn't that show supposed to be in June and it was cancelled? I originally wanted to go to that show then. If my car isn't apart at my uncle's shop with the 8.8 rearend going in, then I'll head down there. That would be great to park with all the other 4 eyes! I'm only about 35-40 minutes at the most so if everything goes good I'll be there.

Maybe if there's one next year, and my car is done, I would seriously consider going. Would be a cool road trip.

well, this would be around a 120 mile round trip
for me. I have to get off my azz.
I have not been to a show this year :(

Pete, is this a MCCNE show ?
What rt do you take ?
Anyone, from the North heading South ?

Hissing Cobra
07-23-2006, 01:54 PM
I haven't been to a show yet this year either (other than cruise nights). I had to deal with the camshaft problems earlier this year and that caused me to miss a few of them (including both Mustangs Unlimited shows). I did go to the Worcester Nationals but missed most of it as I arrived early Saturday afternoon and left on Saturday night.

Fred, it's not an MCCNE show. I will be taking Route 195 down to the Providence split and then bear left onto Route 95 South. I think it's exit 20 but I'll double check before I leave.

If you go, I can give you my cell phone number (if you're interested). We could maybe meet up for breakfast and then pull in together so that we'd have a few foureyes in a row. Ya don't see that too much anymore. :(

Pete, I'm going to try to get the car buttoned up on time. I have a header panel coming in, and from there I can throw on the new bumper, and also doing an intake and carb swap Tuesday, hopefully I can get it tuned by Friday

Hey I'm in the Cape Cod area all summer. My dad flys up here on Friday and I happen to have the day off on Saturday. I'll talk to him and see if we can make it out there. I'd really like to bring my car to a show in the NE area. What are the plans and times for the day?

Grrrr... :|

My car is apart now...I need some rust areas patched up on the floor and behind the pass side fender. I wont be able to make it due to lack of $$$ and time to get this taken care of before hand.

Maybe next time.

I'll be bringing my camera and taking pictures that I'll post on the boards for the members to see. Come on you New Englanders, LET'S GO!

Hey guys, it was a good turnout! I did take first place, which kind of shocked me. We were all in a class that included ALL Mustangs from '79-'07 and when they called the 3rd place car (98 Cobra) and then the 2nd place car (95 Cobra), I figured that 1st place would go to the PRISTINE '85 GT that had only 20,000 original miles. This car looked like it just rolled off of the assembly line and MINT couldn't even describe it. I've got a couple of pictures of it (that I'll post later) and both Fred and I gave the guy the information of this website. So, I feel fortunate that they called me for 1st place. There were a LOT of nice cars there. I'll post some more information and pic's later. It was great to meet all of you foureyedpride members!

O.K., I've just uploaded pic's to my online hosting site. Here's a bunch for you all to look at. Enjoy!

Pic #1: Starting the day off nice with a full tank of gas.

Heading down Route 95 are Fredzilla's one owner '86 Capri (with new back wing), and BAD5oh's (Dave) '86 GT convertible.

Here's a shot of Fred's '86 Capri and Dave's '86 GT convertible.

It's nice to look in your side mirror and see FOUREYES! Fred's Capri and Dave's GT were a sight to see!

Pulling into the show, I was able to snap this photo of my car.

http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/749/5995/82853.jpg

At the show, we met up with 85stanggt (Ed) and his father (also named Ed). Father Ed had flown up to Massachusetts from Florida the night before and then had at least a 2 hour ride down to Chatham (on Cape Cod) before getting up and cruising from Chatham down to Rhode Island (at least another 2 hour ride). Way to go Ed on your stamina! He also bought that car brand new back in the day as well. Nice to meet you guys! 8)

Here's BAD5oh (Dave on left) and Fredzilla (Fred on right) posing with their foureyes.

I'll post some more pic's in my next post.

I took a group shot of the cars but I don't know what happened to the pic. Anyway, here's some of the other highlights of the show.

Anyone like the new Ford GT's? How 'bout a Yellow one?

http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/749/5995/82856.jpg

How about one that's been painted like the original '60's REAL GT-40! This one listed for $175,000.00. 8O

All I have to say is that was a kick ass day. Awesome time just making the drive there. I felt a bit uneasy at first at the condition of my car compared to the others but at the end I could have cared less. The 4 eyes together that whats its all about. Great meeting you guys and was a really fun day. I cannot wait to do that again. I still have to upload my pics from my camera and will post them soon.

Quick funny story was when Fred and I split from you guys on the way home we were about 20 miles from home. We took the loop and got back onto 95 North and all of a sudden I heard a loud screeching noise and realized it was my car and then my engine died. I pulled over, started the car and it sounded good. Started driving and right away it screeched again, heard a clunk, and then watched my smog pump pulley roll across 4 lanes and onto the grass on the other side of the highway. AAA took about 20 minutes and got me home. The pump siezed and I just replaced it last fall lol. I'm gonna bypass it and be done with it.

I also would like to say I very much appreciated Fred waiting with me and didn't wanna leave till he knew I was all set. Good man and very much appreciated :D

Any finally congrats Pete on 1st place 8)

I am envious of you guys. I would have loved to go but my car is down for the count right now. I would have given anything to be able to drive with you all there. My car isnt as reliable as I would like it to be. Hopefully I can get it into a shop soon to get the rust gremlins taken care of and then be able to focus on reliability.

You and your brothers cars are both awesome. I am jealous. The others all looked great too and I was happy to see a capri in the bunch :P

Congrats on the 1st place prize Pete. Your car is awesome. I see it every once and a while at the upper cape shows but there is usually no owner around the car. :? Oh well, maybe next time.

Hope to catch up with you soon.

Thanks for the compliments. RBuckley, there's nothing to be envious about. You'll get your's done, just don't give up. I remember when mine was being built (it took 4 years) and I would go to the shows with my brother, that it was painful to NOT have a car of my own at the shows. Luckily, I persevered and didn't give up. Don't you give up either! If a regular working stiff like me can do it, you can too! By the way, you're more than welcome to ride with me to the shows if your's isn't ready for awhile. Just let me know. ;)

Dave,

I'm sorry to hear that you lost the pulley. Thank the lord for AAA, heh? It was a good time and I hope to attend their other show later this summer. At the next show, they don't give out trophies but the great John Force and the equally great Bob Tasca (if he is healthy enough) will be there signing autographs. It's more of a "cruise night" but it's held during the day and it lasts all day.

Anyone else have more pic's? I've got some more of other cars and I'll try to post them later. My favorite of the day was a '70 BOSS 302. It had everything that I would want to do to one of those. I'll post a pic of it later.

Yeah I'm def gonna try and make that one with my 86 and 87. I'll have my buddy drive one if I bring both but either way I'll most likely be there with one. I'll see you at Epping. I'll have the 87 there for show but most likely not racing yet unless I find time to put the miles on it to break in the clutch in time.

AAA told me it would be within an hour but they got there in 20 minutes. I was a bit worried but it was the first time I had to use them and it saved my ass :D

That was a great show!! I enjoyed meeting up with all you guys.

That was so fun crusin down rt95 and getting some long looks, and the occasional thumbs up we got from other motorists was priceless.. Always better with a pack of foureyes.. 8)

Pete, great job on the pictures while driving too those look awesome. :D
I do have a few pictures I can post later. Although I'm going to have to practice on that skill. Most seem to be either a picture of my dash or

I hope we can all get together again before summer ends.

What a great show! My dad and I had a great time meeting you guys and seeing all of those awesome cars (especially the four eyes :D ).

Pete congrats on 1st place! I had a feeling you'd do good. I heard the 2nd and 3rd place cars and figured, like you did, that some newer car would win...but the four eye pulled it off! :P I was kinda surprised they classed us with the newer Mustangs, though :?

Dave, I'm sorry to hear your smog pulley went again...ironically after you were telling me at the show about the first time it happened to you... I'll picture that pulley flying across the highway next time I see one of those "Honk if Parts Fall Off" bumper stickers.

Fred and Paul, nice meeting you and seeing your beautiful cars. It was fun cruising down the highway with fellow four eyes. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to another show before I leave. I'm most likely going to be at the one that Pete was telling me about, which happens every Tuesday in Bourne.

I have some pictures from the show and the drive that I'll post up soon. I have to hook the camera up to the computer and find a place to host them.
