I know someone who has some 79 turbo Pace Car parts he is wanting to sell. He said he has a good 4 speed trans. Is there anything specific / stampings I should be looking for? What would be price ranges? I can get a full list of what he has if anybody is interested. He mentioned it in passing when we were talking SVOs.

The turbo 4sp tranny isnt worth a whole lot. Most people are switching them out for V8 conversions so they are almost a throw-away tranny. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the N/A trannys and the turbo ones so I dont know if there would be differences in the casting #'s.

If its the good 4 speed which I think it should but i'm really sketchy on this, than the bellhousing would be worth having since it should be a direct pull style that is possibly(if its the correct one) with the T5 transmission.

79-80 2.3L Turbo's and could be other years have the B/W RAD tranny.

The difference between the 4 speeds(the one with the T5 compatible bell and the one that isn't) is the transmission bolts to the bell from the transmissino side while the other bolts on from inside the bellhousing.
I can't tell in your picture though. I may be like the one I have which came out of an 85 4 cylinder car.

That should be it.
If I remeber correctly the direct pull bell came on the 4spd with the 3 bolt shifter that installs like a T5s shifter, inot the center of the trans. Which ever trans that is RAD/SROD.

Only if it bolts onto the bell from the transmission side. The two transmissions look similar(as seen above in my pic too), but one bolts from the inside of the bellhousing and the other bolts like the T5.

mfpmax your four speed is the same one i have(in the second pic) it was out of a 84 mustang L with the 2.3L. so that one will bolt up to a t-5 bellhousing?

Nope it bolts to the transmission from the inside and the bolt pattern is different.
