Alrighty, I saw a TurboCoupe out in the junkyard recently, sans cylinder head. Strangely enough the turbo was still there. Small sucker too.
Now here's my question: If it's got an IRS, can I use the brake parts on my solid 8.8" axle?
EDIT: And to make this topic fit in properly, can I use the turbo at all? Or is it a wee bit small?

2.3T TurboCoupes don't have IRS's... 3.8SC SuperCoupes did...
87-88 Turbocoupes have 8.8 straight axles... and as long as you changed the brakes/axles it should work...

Turbo Coupes never had an IRS....the IRS was first standard on the '89 models. Now if it does have an IRS then someone put it in there....
The Turbocharger is an IHI Turbo and is small....You can use it but you would be better off with a Garret in my opinion. Most poeple consider the IHI turbos throw aways.

If you bother with the IHI, put it on Ebay...either someone with a smaller displacement engine will want it, or a V8 guy doing twins.

I thought the IHI spooled faster and made more low-end torque. I was told that they could boost as much as 18psi and was a good setup for a driver or an autocross car.

They can. Some people do keep them for those purposes.
But I recently installed a T3 with a 0.48 housing...I'm not sure if the IHI is that much of an improvemnt in spool
And god the sound is much louder.
