84 Anniversary Pony Fender Badges NOS vs Repop

I was informed that LRS and others now have a re-pop of the 84.5 Anny Fender Badge.

If you are an Anny owner, you know they are worth their weight in gold. I am lucky that I have a few NOS ones put away for my Anny's. The last price check was around $200.00 for a NOS set.

Anyways, the ones I have are not overly yellowed. Their was a fire in the badge factory when the run of service parts was going on and the smoke yellowed most of the expoxy of the stock. They are allways hit or miss.

The Re-pop badges, are the same size and somewhat follow the curve of the originals. There is no expoxy inlay and the red-white-blue is hand painted and somewhat sloppy. The material is much thinner and it most likley is a flash plating.

The NOS one have the look and feel of Jewerly.

You get what you pay for, these are around 20 bucks. I would not use them on my car but, if someone had a "driver" and does not mind not having the authentic nice fenders bagdes, these will do

So if its a driver (like mine) how about some newer oem ponys?

I havent checked the size and style of the ones they use on the 06 Stangs, but to the untrained eye, who could tell the difference?

Most people dont even know that Ford made a 20th Anny, around here mine is the only one in town. Everyone asks me about it.

My orginials are in pretty good shape, Im going to remove them, clean them up, and save them for later.

BTW a NOS set sold on ebay not to long ago for less than $50. I missed out.

New ones are smaller and dont have the all important curve.

If its a driver, go with these LRS 16228.

They to me are just not good enough for my cars. We are putting them on my daughters 93 LX and taking her 2.3 fender badges off
