I finally got around to getting some work done on the seat brackets for the Recaros in the Tbird.
I was able to get the driver side done at least.

The bracket is pretty beefy, but there will be no flex in it during "spirited" driving ;)

Then I got the seat mounted. Needs a touch more cleaning and another oddity I found...these are VW Recaros, and for some reason the recline adjusters are on the "wrong" side of the seat. The seast release lever is going to wind up on the inside of the seat instead of on the outside. Good thing the only thing that will be in the back seat will be the battery :D

The grey is a little off, but it will suffice. :D

hmm. I love the feel of the A2 Jetta GLI/ Golf GTI seats. Very comfy.

Is that the bracket that you use in conjunction with the factory slider?

I probably wouldn't be able to use them because my seats are already high enough.

But they look great!

Scott,

Yeah those brackets mate the seat to the factory slider (got rid of the power tracks for manual ones). I actually lifted the rear of the seat up slightly to it wasn't so much like sitting in a bucket.

In this instance the height of the seat seems to work for me. The seat bottoms themselves aren't really thick.

Heh, I bought manual seat rails for my LTD and they actually raised the seat compared to the power rails.

I reluctantly had to reinstall the power rails.

I suppose since I still have the pass side to do I can compare the height of the factory TBird/Cougar manual and power tracks.

Not that it really helps you though :P

Those brackets are something I made to orient the seat where I wanted it.
