Ok, I know none of you care about aeros, but maybe you will share your knowledge.
I want to buy another Stang to go with my Anny and 05.
Ive owned verts of some form or shape since the early 80s, so I was thinking about a 25th Anny vert to go with my 20th.
As far as I can tell a 25th Anny is any Mustang produced from Apr 89 through Apr 90. So A 25th Anny could be a 89 or 90.
The only thing that IDs the 25th is the dash emblem and the orginal window sticker with the 25th watermark.
Do I have these "facts" straight?
Since Im about 75% retired, Ive got lots of time to kill. It would be killer to have 20th, 25th, and 40th Stangs to put in shows.
We never drive the 05, Im thinking of trading it for a 40th, just to round out the collection.

Correct,
There really was no "25th" Anny car. Any built over the timeframe you mentioned had the Dash Emblem and the Window Sticker had the Pony.
If you really want a 25th car, get a 90 7Up Vert. That way you actually have something that are 25th cars and limited to the 4100 cars made.

I care about them
I also have an 89 hatch and a 90 vert. Too bad neither are on the road right now. :(
The 90 will get you rear shoulder belts. You can always swap the air bag column for 1 with tilt.

Yuck, I forgot about the airbags. 90 was the first year?
Im on thin ice over the Anny and the pile of parts in the garage, shed, attic, yard, and friends house, so another purchase would have to be an automatic, and a nice enough car for the misses to drive.

Yes
89 - mass air, old style seats, tilt wheel
90 - first year for air bags, nicer seats (IMO), return of the black int., bettter rear speaker set up for the vert rear
91-93 - bigger wheel well openings
you could always get a 90 and swap the column to the 87-89 style and you will have tilt.

I agree that the 7up cars are the most widely accepted as being the "25th anniversary" car.
Was there anything significant in '94-'95 to commemorate the 30th? I know they had the anny special in '99 to celebrate 35.

The only "official" production anniversary cars were the '84 G.T.350 and the '99 GT (ordered with RPO 54Y). Jack Roush - at the behest of FoMoCo - made a prototype for the 25th but they didn't give it the final nod for production. It was powered by a TT 351W. Many of the styling cues on that car were used for the '93 Cobra.
The '90½ Limited Edition LX Convertible (commonly albeit incorrectly referred to as the "7-up" Mustang/car/version/whatever) isn't an anniversary model either.
In '94 there was a Indy Pace Car version built on the Cobra.

as for removing an airbag, it is against federal law

the 88 Cali version is different the the 89-up 50 state version
there is a lot of people breaking federal law then if that's the case

Hence the quotes around anniversary in my post.
