With standard engine/transmission, which happens to be a 2.3 four with a four speed. My WORN OUT 79 hatchback gets 30 mpg with that drivetrain (highway), so I'd believe it.

What a strange ad. So "Black Magic" is just a tag line, and this isn't an actual ad for the Black Magic edition? After all, the car in the big ad isn't even a Black Magic, is it? Don't they all have the gold trim and wheels?

Not only does the AD say "Black Magic" with a NON Black Magic car, but the post card shows a Black Magic car and does not say "Black Magic" on it!

Big applause for the 80's FLM promotions department please!

I got 38MPG once.

Filled up...next day drove back to the gas station filled up...2 miles...= 38MPG :lol:
