They are a variable venturi design of carb. They make a ton of torque for truck pulling but arent very street friendly(tuning, emissions). The major downsize to them is their size, and lack of throttle response. They are very, very tall and after installing one you will likely have little to no room left for an air cleaner.

All I've ever heard about them was they were popular carbs for boat-racing back in the '70s.

Yeah, unless you want to be different, I'd stay away from them. Guys/gals used to run them alot on truckpulling, and 4 wheeling. (mud bogging/trail climbing, etc, etc).
I can't honestly say I've seen one @ the dragstrip for many a year. (probably good reason, eh?)

webers would be waaaaaaaaaaay cool on any application!!! (wouldn't even care if car ran right, the coolness factor would WAY outweigh the runability problems). :lol:

they have a hole into which gas is dumped and have 2 throttle positions, on and on :D
