Hello all, I'm looking to buy a set of '86 convertible doors used and the seller claims in '86 'verts the VIN sticker was not in the drivers side door
but in the door jamb on the body and thus why his doors have nothing on them? True or False? - Thanks!

the ID sticker on the door definitely has the VIN on it. his doors must have been repainted.
my 86 vert has it.

Not mine...my '86 has it on the door jamb (no re-paint here, original location)

I just found a pic on ebay of a vert, and you can see the VIN sticker is on the drivers door jamb.
Third pic from the bottom, left side.

I am almost certain, all `86 convertibles had the tag on the jamb. If my memory strikes me correct. You could see on the assembly line all of the coupes that were slated to be a convertible. They didn't have a top frame on the door. The saying was: "There's one heading to Car & Concept".
