Quick Resto question, that is puzziling me

My 84 5.0 Gt-350 has the locks on the T-Top glass, My 84 2.3 GT-350 does not! Judging by the Vin's the 2.3 car is older

Both are the correct Carlite glass, they interchange but the 2.3 car has no lock provision. My 84 5.0 has what I call the "2-stage" lock drum, it sits high and pushes in. My old aero T-Top 87 had a recessed lock but this 2.3 GT-350 car has neither.

I think the last of the 88's did not have the lock but I dont think those would fit within the 84 envelope.

Its a factory T-Top car so I am confused, I thought they all had locks.

Any insight would be appreciated

your not loosing it ....the plain fact is that some do some dont....it might have been a option.

I'm pretty sure T-Top locks were optional, not standard.

I know that my 84 gt turbo has locks but our 81 t-top coupe does not.

locks were an option , and the later 88 tops will fit the roof just fine , the trim on the outside is different , but they fit fine , I have a set of 88 tops as a spare set , I live 40 miles from town , and have my 84 tops at a friends house in case it rains , and I don't have the tops with me .....the locks really serve no pourpose .....
