Is 491.1 hp alot to get out of a 10.5 comp. ratio 289? n/a?

My machinist/engine builder just threw together, (well, top end anyway), a little 289. Stock bore. Stock stroke. A 289. Fairly stout solid roller cam. Some aftermarket heads (don't know exact figures but theyre not some gnarly nasty ones. think he mentioned they flowed like 280 intake).
Anyway, a vic. jr. intake, an antiquated 780 holley vac. sec. carb. small tube headers.
491.1 hp @ 7800 rpm.
I've got a vid of one of the 8 grand dyno pulls if anyone wants to see/HEAR it.

Ain't nuttin' gnarlier then a sbf turning 8 grand under load, UNLESS it's a 418 sbf turning 8 grand under load! 8)

That motor sounds like you have gotten a whole lot out of it. I have a 306 with an S-trim and got 450 rwhp. Nice numbers!

Yeah, it's not mine, but my machinist/engine builders. Before he's done, I"m sure he'll get over 500 hp out of it (flywheel hp).
Gonna be one nutso street car, that's for sure. ;)
