These are thumbnails (with links) of the hubcaps that came with my 79 Ghia when I bought it. Any idea as to which ones are factory and/or correct - if any?

The bottom ones are from a 66 Mustang to be exact. The wires are correct 1979 parts.

The ones on the bottom are a base 65-66 Mustang hubcap. What is the story with them, how did they end up with the car?

LOL. This is what came with the car when I bought it.

*sigh* Anybody want a hubcap?

I measured the OD of the rims and they're all just over 15" - which means that I have 14" rims all the way around. And they're wearing skinnier tires than the 10 holes or ...ahem... FIVE STARS which I have on hand.

(Okay, sorry, I couldnt' resist...)

If this is the only truly quirky thing about this car, then I'd be in great shape. (I doubt this is the case...)

It's not quirky, 14" steel wheels with wires are normal on 79s, particularly Ghias.

Nah, the quirkiness was that this (hubcap from the 60's) was the only hubcap on the vehicle at time of purchase.

I can confirm the above post. Standard on the 79 Ghia was the 14 inch turbine wheel cover, the wire wheel cover was optional.
