This guy is offering an original 79 Mustang Cobra,he claims its al original.
1979 Mustang Cobra (http://www.dr-mustang.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14530)
However, to my knowledge Ford did NOT put 1980 Cobra seats in a car build in 1978 according to the tag, same for the large back facing hoodscoop.

whats your opinion????????

That interior is in beautiful shape. Those Recaro seats have te same pattern that the 79 Pace car seats used. Definitly not just thrown in there.
The things I notice that are not original:
- wheels
- speakers in glove box door
- air horns
- steering wheel (at least its still tasteful)
- the floor mats have got to go (they just ruin the near perfect interior)
Other than that it looks like a great car.

I kant read nuffin on that there web site.
My google translator hooked it right up though...
"Who interest has should the Stang best locally looks at to come. Location sews Berne." Couldn't have said it worse myself. :D
And I completely agree with one poster who states, "Looks still rather well received out inside." Yes indeed it does.
Interesting use of the speaker compartment there too. I got dizzy and fell down after staring at the seats too long. :fried:
My knowledge is useless here. But that is an absolutely beautiful interior, sans front door step floor mats, of course. The seats match the interior, and like Zap said, that same material (diff color) was on the 79 Pace Cars so it may be correct. As good a shape as it's in, I'd tend to believe it's pretty original. But then again, the owner may be a pretty crafty guy considering the different items on it.
But don't forget it's a Euro stang (DSO of 90 for export on the door tag) subject to strange fo-reen countries' laws and regs, so the steering wheel, horns, etc. may all be stock for over-yonder Stangs.
There, did I help out?

Dang, she's a beauty!! I have never seen brown recaro's, but i like them. I think the seats are original. Other than the floor mats and the glove box speakers, it looks real nice. Out of curiosity, how much is he asking?

The interior code PT will hold the answer for you I think. But I don't have my code book here.
But looking at the Capri Upholstery codes, PT has a different cloth pattern:
http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/Literature/ColorAndUpholsteryBooks/79_mercury_color_book_04.jpg
I believe the seats were replaced when the nicer Recaros with that color were available in 1980.

I have never seen a 79 Cobra with that hoodscoop either, not to say it never happened though. Of course, with the speakers, wheels, air horns, etc. I'd be willing to bet the hood scoop was changed. I'd also think that interior is most likely correct.

The '79 cobras did NOT come with the recaro seats or the pace car style hood scoop in the US anyway. I know things sometime got goofy when they were exported to different countrys though.

As for the recaro's either it has an special order or .........not a clue
I recently bought a 1980 Cobra with the same recaro in "caramel" bud that a 1980 :?

Honestly, the codes for Mustangs and Capris have never differed in that a code for the Capri always is the same material/pattern if the same code is in the Mustang for that year.
The seat fabric pattern for the 1979 Capri for code "PT" (as shown on the door tag) is NOT the same pattern as the seats shown (check my site).
I'm going to say the seats in that car were replaced at some point. My guess is that the original owner saw the "cool" new seats for 1980 and swapped them in.
If it was a special order, then the door tag should not say "PT"....but reflect the appropriate interior code.
I wish somebody from the Mustang community would gather the upholstery books together and scan them in.

Here's where I'll play conspiracy theorist. Don't put too much (or any weight) into what I say or what I ask...
Is it just another jacked-up/not-quite-right model put out by yet another clueless company, or is it somewhat indicative of what might have been exported? PC/later Cobra hood, no air dam, although the top of the nose looks like they might have been trying for the later Cobra nose...who knows?
Anyway, thought you guys might get a kick out of it. I paid way too much for this thing many, many years ago, but I haven't seen another one.

Is it just me or is the radio also not stock?? What kind of radio is that?? Kinda looks like a 90's ford radio, but then it has knobs on the bottom for adjustments(i.e. bass, treble, fade, left/right). I still wouldn't mind having that car, love the interior color!

~~~I don't know if it's cool or wierd that I can understand it. Perhaps I have learned too much german, but maybe not... I find the car really cool and I'd buy it if I lived in Germany and it wasnt tooooooo expensive, but I believe a car that nice would have to be expensive (or it should at least)~~~
