The buck tag should have CBR or CORBRA on it.

Let us know....

Supposedly one guy has found a 4cyl (non turbo) Cobra....

I think they threw whatever engine they could in those to get them to sell. It would be interesting to see the VIN from yours. The pictures show it as being an obvious cobra.

I havent had a chance to get the info from my friends 4cyl non-turbo one to post here yet. I am afraid if I go to check it out they I will buy it..

well i know that for the first couple of years you could get a Capri RS with any engine. i think the Cobras would be the same

I will be buying the car next saturday, still Im not sure what to do the title says 6 cil. but theres a 8 cil. in now.
If so he has also got a new trans and rear axel!
I cant get it back on the road with a 8 cil. or I have to go thru a lot of trouble an put a number in from an V8 (thats illegal)

Keep u guys posted

It quite possible that the "6 cylinder" on the title could be wrong. The only way of knowing would be to check the VIN and bucktag. Keep us posted. By the way, the car looks great!

It's my understanding that the '79 Cobra's came equipped with either the Turbo 4-cylinder or the 302 c.i. V-8. I've also read that the '80 Cobra's came with either the Turbo 4-cylinder or the 255 c.i. V-8. I believe that the 255 was dropped in '81, thus the Turbo 4-cylinder was the only available engine for that year.

Of course, strange things have been known to happen (as we all know.) I'm definitely interested in finding out if the title was misprinted.

I'd assume it's a title mis-print
But it's not impossible, right?
Especially if it was built to export

unit175: Did you for sure buy this car? Please post the VIN and the Body Tag ("buck" tag).

Finnaly bought the Cobra today it has a (to me unknown type) V8 under the hood, but tiltle shows a 6 cyl. TURBO??

Running the VIN thru a decoder shows that ist a 140CID 4 cyl.

here some pics......btw it has white parkinglights showing the car came via US => Belgium to The Netherlands

Obviouly not the original engine (A = 2.3L). The title is obviously wrong as well.

Can you get any numbers from the intake manifold (looks to be cast iron), and block, and carb tag?

The Pace cars, Cobras, and '82 GTs are my favorite Fox Stangs!
That engine is probably a 302. I guess it could be a 255 or maybe even a 289, but I'm pretty sure it's not a 351.
That's a really nice Cobra!!

Thats defenatly a 5.0 or one of its brethren, not a 351, the intake isn't wide enough, other then that I have no idea. Nice car though, love the color
