Ever wonder why the vinyl headliner comes down in your 79? I found out. After cleaning it and glueing new foam on the back of the vinyl, I went to fit it onto the cardboard headliner. It was a good half inch short around the edge. The vinyl shrinks off the cardboard over time. Not to mention the foam turns to dust. What do I do? It won't stretch. Does anybody carry the orginal vinyl headliner material in white? And I'm so close to finishing my Cobra! Arg.

There is a thread about headliner material in the body shop section with a discussion about where to buy it. Once it comes down, it is junk as you have discovered why it comes down. Most people just assume the glue debonds.

Actually, the glue is about the only thing left!
